RX8 Brake Booster on FD?

Paging @DaleClark or other knowledgeable sources. My brake booster may be bad, and they're NLA. Anyone know if the RX8 booster is compatible? It's more compact, and the vacuum nipple is a little different, but it's more or less in the right spot.

Full disclosure, I have an MK60 conversion that uses all different flexible lines, so "compatible" for me only needs to be, bolts to the firewall and brake pedal accurately, and same for master cylinder.

I feel I tried to make that work at some point, I think the stud pattern for the firewall was different.

Wondering if maybe other 90s Mazda cars had a similar booster/stud pattern that could work.

Interesting, since the firewall gasket Atkins sells lists for every car since 81 through the end of the 8s run is the same. Same part number for Miatas too.

Some pics look like the bolt pattern is more square, other like it's rectangular. I'd guess the 626/B2000/929 stuff is similar too.

Thinking about it some more - I think the bolt pattern is right but the lip on the firewall hit the RX-8 booster. The RX-7 booster has kind of a spacer. The studs are welded into the brake booster and would not be long enough with a spacer in there - I THINK that was what I discovered.

That makes sense. Well, it's moot, since I found this thread where someone had it completely refurbished. I called the place and it's $165, same day turnaround. No reason to screw around with anything else:

Peter, I appreciate that you correctly stated that the point was moot rather than mute. An educated Rotorhead indeed.
