RX7 stalling problem

I own a 1996 RX7 RB. It seems to run fine except it some times won't idle. If i rev the engine at idle when the revs return to 1000rpm it will slowely die. Does anybody know why this is happening. If I start the car normaly it will happely idle even from cold.

If it is *only* on letting off throttle I would definitely take a look at the throttle body return dashpot mechanism. It's supposed to dampen the closing speed of the plates when releasing throttle.

Look at the larger round piece sitting near the bottom resting on the shop rag(also has white tip on the top of it with a lever pressing on it):

This should create a slow movement of the plate mechanism when letting off the throttle.

Check your engine oil and make sure they are sufficient. sometimes the idle is bad when there is not enough oil especially in hot weather.

I checked the dashpot and made sure it was setup to the factory specs. But it hasn't seemed to make any difference. Its really anoying when you coast up to traffic lights and the thing stalls. Does anybody have any other ideas?

its the clutch switch springs are bad on your car. is a 50 cent fix. if you look at the clutch pedal, on top there is a little box with a white stick that moves in and out when you press and release your clutch. thake that boc out, take it aprt, and switch the spring inside with a spring from a simple ball point pen. this should fix your problem, and save you $60 for that part from mazda.,

Yeah that makes sense when you are coasting with the clutch in. But it still stalls when you rev the engine with it out of gear and the same problem occurs.

Its just got a stock ecu. Apexi avcr adjustable boost controller. Apexi twin filters,Greedy intake pipes.Blitz cat back exhaust, Just rebuilt the turbos as they where leaking oil quite badly. I cleaned out behind the throttle butiflies and all the intake pipes and had the intercooler ultrasonicly cleaned.
