Rx7 high polution ?

Hi guys, my cars polution (CO2) is 9,99 but 3,5 is legal here in Iceland, it's the '93 model driven 60500 miles if that makes any difference, if you could tell me, is it a bad engine or do you know what could be the reason ?

Thx, GrétarM.

check the basic things: cat, air pump, emission sensors/gadgets.

what are the mods to the car? and search as there are numerous threads on getting the FD to pass emissions.

My car has a 7,5 to 8,5 on CO2 without the pre-cat and airpump. With the airpump it passed the 3,5 margin.
Also got PFC and FP, so the main reason my car has so bad CO2 is because it is so freaking rich @ idle.

post your mods btw.

Are we talking about CO2 or CO? Because I think that GretarM wrote on some other thread that he has a problem with CO...

Hi, since I don't know much about cars, I can't answer if it's CO or CO2 but it's some kind of polution, also I think that the car has no mods.

GretarM, try to get a pic of how your engine bay looks like so that others can tell you if it is modded...or you can look online on how a modded engine looks like and pop the hood yourself and compare.

Properly maintained and with the stock cat the FD can have pretty decent emissions numbers. Here are my numbers with the stock cat, new plugs etc.
