So on these solenoid leads I check b/w for continuity back to the EGI relay, and the other colored lead back to the slots on the ECU?
yes, each of the separate color lead wires are a ground trigger circuit directly from the ECU.

the B/W wire feeds to the injectors and ignition coils with the colored wires all leading to the ECU as well.
