Reverse problems, need some help!

Ive got a standard 5 speed 94 rx7 with 96000 miles on her, and i was wondering if they hae a revere lockout. It has ben fine untill today when it all of a sudden wouldnt go into reverse. The gears dont grind or anything, the shifter wont even pull back. It is like it is locked out or something. Apreciate all help!

You weren't moving forward while trying to put it into reverse were you? Try going into 5th and then back into reverse..make sure the clutch is depressed fully, then iterate through all the gears and see if you sense any trouble and then go into reverse..

If a syncro was shot or something, I would imagine that you would hear grinding noises and it would be real rough going into a particular gear, but it wouldn't summarily not go in at all..

I have tried everything i can think of to try to get it into reverse. Since the gears dont grind i think that its not even getting into position.

1st through 5th are shifting just fine, but its like something is obstructing the shifter from going into reverse.
