I do help but I won't buy car parts.

noting major to mention... but lots of little things.
I'm trying to finish up the interior. I got the rear seats back from the interior shop FIIIIINALLY so I'm trying to put the rear half of the car back together now. I've Wired up 0ga wire from the engine compartment to the back, run the fuel pump signal wires, all the audio wires, installed a 150A breaker and fuse/distribution block for the fuel pumps/amp.

Since the battery is going in the trunk I've run into the issues associated with safely mounting it. Hopefully my homemade mounting which bolts to the existing holes in the back will be strong enough :( thats the one part that scares me with having the battery in the back. I'll snap some pics of the trunk as I put everything back together... I still have to make some brackets to accept the rear seat latches and a few other things.

Also I was rummaging through boxes in the garage and finally found my dome light :D . Remembering how disgustingly dim the stock one was, I decided to add some "chrome" spray to the inside to reflect the light back down (stock is BLACK LOL! ). The difference is night and day... i say that figuratively, but it's so much brighter than before I think its going to look like daytime once its in the car :) im really happy with how it came out

My new red carpet doesnt have a "scuff plate" next to the drivers foot rest. I decided to make a simple one, which took a turn for the worse and a couple days later ended up with the most unreasonably complex carpet protector the world has ever seen. On the bright side, it should match my gas pedal :P

Lastly, I finally got around to installing the carbonetics twin plate on the motor, (I did the tranny conversion form pull to push awhile back)

looking good, can't wait to see this done

staticguitar313 04-04-09 05:39 AM

So much win!, thanks for the idea on the dome light :)

David Hayes 04-04-09 07:50 AM

Love the dome light idea. Now pop some LEDS in it and it will be plenty bright! Are you coming to DGRR?

i would, but its on the opposite side of the country, and the car is still in pieces :)

for the LED's... im going to get a nice set (got any recommendations?) but im not sure making it brighter will be a good thing. Its damn bright now. I do want to do LED;s in many of the exterior bulbs though

David Hayes 04-06-09 05:46 AM

Here are the LEDs recommended by superbrightleds.com, where I get my bulbs:

For all of the 168/194 bulbs on that list I recommend the
WLED-WHP

For the 1156 bulbs I recommend the 1156-xLX3
1157 go with the 1157-xLX3
Choose the color of your LED to match the lens for the
best color
saturation and brightness.

For the 921 I would recommend the 921-x12. Again match your
colors up.

For the 3157, the trunk light I would say it depends on how
bright
you want it. I recommend the 3157-WLX3 for the brightest.

RotorMotor 10-22-09 06:08 PM

thanks rich!!! I wish I had some updates.... I honestly have been so busy I havent touched the project car for months. I'm gonna volunteer Mariah to help me finish the carpet install, then it's go time w/ the rest of the interior. I've got basically everything now ready to slap together.

gracer7-rx7 10-22-09 06:12 PM

Sure thing :) and thanks for the offer!! My weekends have been so busy with work, school, and everything else that sadly this car just sits and sits with no progress. I've got to just carve out some time to make this happen

ALPSTA 10-23-09 04:33 PM

Looks great so far, can't wait to see the finished project.
