Rear diffuser?

You guys know how FEED and some other companies have rear diffusers for the ReX but they are all big and alittle to wild for my taste. But the other day i happen to pass by a ReX in tampa with a stock looking diffuser peice that replaces the black factory plastic piece. If anyone know where it is for sale or anything about it please let me know.

The one one the red car is called a vortex generator (direct japanese translation is "bowtech" which you see a lot).
The vertical fins alow the air to flow more smoothly and it covers the gas tank area to further reduce turbulance.
It does like "right" on the FD. Not too extreme. Some of the others do not look right with a stock FD as they ruin the lines of the car.

I have one made by rotary extreme from a group buy a while back. It's fiberglass just like the RE-Amemiya part and a perfect replica.
I decided to not use it afterall so pm me if you're interested.
I will sell it for what I paid $350 + shipping. The new price at rotary extreme is $450 + shipping.

Chris

I have one from the GB as well...curious to know why you decided not to install it.

I've been getting second thoughts because of the fact that I can't seem to figure out what to coat it with. I want something that would be durable and look flat black, to match the front lip. I don't want to end up taking it off and touching up cheesy paint every few months...anybody have any suggestions on what would work good on fiberglass...

So far i came up with this...whatch think?

If it was CF I would be all over it. I want one that I don't have to paint and worry about getting chips in it all the time

I have the newer diffuser pro from chuck, I've had it on my car for a few months now, and it's painted the stock black color of the 7. No real scratches/knicks in any visual areas..because you really won't be able to see most of the diffuser from the way it sits, and the part that you do see shouldn't get hit that much, so I wouldn't worry about it too much...

I thought about getting the CF one...but you honestly won't see much of it. That, and CF won't really chip...it'll break into a gazillion peices if it's hit hard enough. Definetly not repairable. Fiberglass, however, gives ya some leeway to repair it, so it was a no-brainer for me.

No, I believe it belongs to ErnieT and that it is an original RE-A piece. If you look around, I'm sure you can find it.

Don't call me Ernie.

BTW, for Roadsterdoc, it's not a "Bowtech generator", it's just the original diffuser from RE-Amemiya. Chuck @ Rotary Extreme has replicas for it now.

The Bowtech generator are add-on strakes in the center and flip-up canards for the sides for the Diffuser Pro. Jayspec7's (the black one) has the RotaryExtreme replica. It doesn't have the Bowtech generator installed.

The piece (in fiberglass) is actually lighter than I expected. CF would be cool, but a waste of money.

Thanks for clarification on the "Bowtech Generator." I've seen it on the Diffuser pro with the end canards and it looks much cooler in person than on a computer screen. Really bad-a$$ stuff.

Can someone post pics of everyone offered right now? Especially a side view, I'd like to see what they all look like before I buy one. But IMO right now, the one on the red car looks perfect with the lines of the body. Wide side skirts....then it might be a different story.

That, and here's a revolutionary idea...look up pics of the products on the websites of the vendors that sell them!!

That's a great idea. I shoulda thought of that!

I have looked at the pics on the websites of vendors, and it seems shady and far away. I was looking for different pics, thanks.

Save your money unless you are interested more in fashion than function.

Useless

My point was made. Those pieces are fashion accessories. Sure, they look cool (to some), but they don't do anything.

Someone will spend several hundred dollars on a useless piece when they still have a stock ecu, a pre-cat or any of the other myriad of items that need changed on the car to improve the function.
