Really strange headlight problem...Help!

Hey guys...I'll try to explain this simply. I have a McCulloch HID conversion kit that I installed over a year ago that was working just fine until recently. Last week, I was driving around and noticed that the driver's side (DS) light wasn't working. I went home, checked it out, and noticed that I could hear a single click at the DS headlight area. Hmm...I figured the bulb was toast, which was odd since these bulbs are supposed to outlast the car. I removed the bulb, researched the fact that the bulbs are like $160 each (!) and realized I better be darn sure the bulb was the culprit.

I went back to the car, tried using the DS bulb in the passenger's side (PS) ballast, turned it on, and this time, the bulb flickered a few times but didn't turn on. So now I'm a little confused because of the fact that the bulb reacted differently, but here's where it gets even weirder: I put the PS bulb back into the PS ballast and the DS bulb back into the DS ballast, and this time, the DS works perfectly while the PS has the flickering but no light problem!!

What the hell is going on? I tried charging the battery for a few days to ensure the problem wasn't the battery, but the problem's the same.

So now I have no idea what needs to be replaced or even checked. A guy at Xenonpros.com suggested that the bulbs were a problem, but if I gotta buy both bulbs for several hundred dollars, I'll as might as well buy a new HID light setup here on the forum!

Please help! If anybody can diagnose the problem correctly, I'll paypal you $5 for saving me the hassle!
Allen

I had a problem with my HID kit. It turned out that the one of the high voltage lines from the ballast to the ignitor broke. The raising and lowering of the pop-ups isn't good for those lines.

I just reconected the wires and every thing is good to go.

Hmm...another interesting idea. I'm gonna try to just take a look at all the lines over the weekend. The weird part of all this is the fact that the bulb actually flickers when first turned on but then simply doesn't turn on after so I know that there's power going to it to some extent.
