RE V-mount IC setup questions
 

I am thinking about going with a Rotary Extreme V-mount IC setup for my 93 FD. I know when installed the radiator sits really low to the ground. I was just wondering if anyone has had any problems with this or have found some way to get it to sit a little higher. I was also wondering if the standard size V-mount kit piping can easily be routed to a single turbo (have a GT35R on the way if that helps with placement). On a side not, I was wondering where to get a good airbox/CAI like the RE CAI or the M2 airbox. Really like the RE CAI but it is so expensive is there any other option, don't want to go with cone filter intakes. Thanks in advance for any input.

You can call Chuck at RE to find this out very quickly. I'd give an answer since I was looking at it in one of his cars at his shop, but for your piping questions and and air box questions, Chuck will have all the answers. He's there every weekday and is usually online.

just depends how low u mount your bracket for the radiator

angentspeed used and aftermarket ps cooler for added clearance

reg vmounts are ok for single app, search for broken93 he has it with a gt35

u wont be disipointed i have it perfect fit, call up chucks hes a great guy and has superb products

The radiator does not sit low at all. It's above the front lip.

You can use the regular vmount with single turbo. You can either make a pipe going from the turbo to the IC or I can route the IC pipe with a different orientation so you can easily connect it with the single turbo.

I would say no...If i remember correctly, with mine the only thing that you could see if you looked under the car was a little bit of the PS cooler.

correction mine sits flush with the lip below. just looked at an old pic.
 

I believe it sits higher than the lip as in the 99 spec or r1 lip. Mine sits almost flush with the lip pictured below but just a tiny bit below.

Yeah Josh I did go crazy. I was looking at the Greddy 2 row I was going to put in and decided I didn't really like cutting up the bumper and reinforcement. Plus I don't want to have to deal with any kind of overheating problem, not that I would have problems with the FMIC for daily driving but I eventually track the car don't want any problems to arrise. But anyways, I will have a Greddy 2 row FMIC and a performance radiator (Coolradiator off of ebay) up for sale in the Parts section soon.

It only looks like that's a bit low, due to that the '93 or '99 Lip Lowers the front by a couple of inches. Front Lip Spoiler, vs the Touring Lip (Plastic 1/4" Strip)

I have a RE V-Mount, and am quite happy with it, I have had issues with some driveways, and what not, mostly due to poor mainteneance in the parking area of where I work. But I had to get a whole new set of fans, due to that I broke the frame, when I hit something, and caused the fan to wabble, and burned out the motors....

The issue really comes down to this:

\0 : Standard the radiator "\" slants back where the lowest point is over, or closer to the axle "0"

/0 : V-Mount moves the radiator in the other direction putting the lowest point forward of the axle, where it is more likely to get hit.

It's one of the only drawbacks to a v-mount setup that I have yet to see.... other than price :D (Happy 1.5 Years Ownership)
