RE-Amemiya bodykit

RE amemiya is selling the 2005 JGTC championship bodykit for the rx7. Price for the whole kit (including the hood) is for $698.000jp ($6500).

Not bad considering the 1997 kit is $10,000 @ rotaryextreme

IWANNA SEE WHAT YOU GUYS THINK ABOUT THE KIT!

spekdah 04-21-05 05:54 PM

Looks like lots of yellow boxes stuck to the side

moconnor 04-21-05 06:03 PM

I just threw up in my mouth. Ug.

RevZempoe 04-21-05 06:05 PM

Yeah, I'm not too pleased with that bodykit. I'm a huge fan of bodykits, but I want something smooth that blends in. That looks too chunky.

scratchjunkie 04-21-05 06:06 PM

it needs stickers

saburo 04-21-05 06:07 PM

the aero parts used on the real GT car are much wider/more agressive than RE's scaled down street versions. still cool though.

IamRobbyah 04-21-05 06:11 PM

IMO... It's baddass! Although, for a streetcar, it may be a bit too much... When I was at JGTC, I was at the Amemia pit watching the crew do their thing. I was in complete awe of the car. (This was however before I had an FD). Badass none-the-less, badass...

darkphantom 04-21-05 06:11 PM

The street version is more tone down. it needs the JGTC lights to complete the kit as well as the wing.

NCMontegott 04-21-05 06:11 PM

yeah i like the rear of the car but the front looks like a homeless mans cardboard box!

NOPR 04-21-05 06:17 PM

that body kit got lost in translation from track to street.

user 9348703 04-21-05 06:58 PM

I like the bumper look, just not my thing on the fenders. GRanted it looks great on their GT car, but on the street hummmmm not my thing thats for sure.

silver93r1 04-21-05 07:59 PM

i just got one thing to say about the body kit :puke:

darkphantom 04-21-05 08:13 PM

is it me or does the front of the car look 300 times bigger than the rear

Killa_FD 04-21-05 08:20 PM

that bodykit is a waste of money

sgt fury 04-21-05 08:27 PM

I think we're missing the point of this aero kit.If you want something for the street or just for looks then there are plenty of options out there, but this kit ,even scaled down,is still meant for those who compete and want the additional downforce and aren't part of a major race team.If you like the look and can part with the cash then go for it,but PLEASE don't rice it out like another infamous orange 7 with enough dimestore crap on it to qualify as a carnival ride!I'm okay with big wings and stickers but somewhere you have to draw the line.

7_rocket 04-21-05 08:57 PM

Kit looks like shit

Riccardo 04-22-05 03:55 AM

Not the best looking kit in town, but probably useful for racing

technician 04-22-05 08:37 AM

Makes the RX-7 look like a Viper rip-off.

shwambo 04-22-05 09:33 AM

I'll buy it... but only if it comes withs the 3-rotor swap kit too

papsmagu 04-22-05 11:41 AM

why would you make an FD look like that???????????????????

and pay to do it!

HIGHWAYMAN 04-22-05 11:53 AM

its way more function than form for my taste

c h I n e Z e~BoY 04-22-05 12:06 PM

theres a lot more kits out there that are way nicer for that price if not cheaper...

but hey, whatever tickles your pickle dude.

just know where to draw the line ^^

correction, "A" body kit is a waste of money. The car looks fine stock

but if your trying to win shows then I guess a kit is necessary...

Absolutely. If they released THE ACTUAL JGTC kit, I would very well might have to sell a sibling and get it. But this kit looks NASTY. It's literally a toned down kit that looks horrible IMO. The actual JGTC car looks very wild, but it goes well w/ the car, and believe it or not, in person, the car looks like it flows very well. Or maybe that was my drool all over it smoothing out the rough edges LOL

Bottom line, I'm disappointed they even bothered to release such a half-ass job of the JGTC kit.
