Which Radiator do you have?
I have been searching and have yet to come across a radiator poll. I thought it might be a good idea just to see which is the most popular choice, along with that it may help with the divided desicion of which radiator is better.
Thank you for participating! |
I'm using a PWR. Fits great, does the job for me.
the PWR and fluidyne are identical, and the PWR is about $30 cheaper.. I went with the PWR.. The other big company is Koyo, but aparently its more of a problem with fitment vs. the pwr/fluidyne
Koyo here and it was a PITA to install.....didn't help that I had a PFS SMIC and it pushed the duct up. :(
My Koyo didn't fit with my PFS parts either. It was a huge PITA although I heard some other setups don't have this problem. Would have been a drop in without Peters parts.
My new Koyo is set up for V-mount. The craftsmanship is great on this unit. |
I have the Koyo. I haven't driven the car yet so I can't comment on how well I like it.
pwr. fits and works great.
pwr
koyo fit no problem for me and its cheaper and bigger then the fluidyne
pwr

I have KOYO with Greddy SMIC.
Installation was like eating sushi for the first time. Hesitant at first, but once it's in your mouth its delicious. ;) |

Fluidyne
I should be getting the Koyo soon. I dont know why everyone makes a fuss about it fitting correctly, I mean, how many parts have you bought that didnt fit first try?

I've been using the Fluidyne for a few years and never had any problems. There were no fitment issues when it was installed using the stock ic and the GReddy 3 row ic. It's a great radiator, welds are done properly, and I would definitely recommend the Fluidyne radiator.
SR Motorsports I believe just put their logo on top of another radiator and is claiming that it was developed by them. You can do a search on SR and find many threads about their fake products. |
KOYO here.
koyo, it was nice and cheap compared to most of the others. The also offered free shipping with it :)
stock heh
koyo, since it is what came with the v-mount
Koyo here too (with no installation problems, BTW).
Fluidyne, because I didn't want to deal with fitment issues. Stock should be listed as an option.
I'm going to go v-mount this winter. now I have the stock one(other). since I will have to customize the install anyway I will be going with the koyo. I am thinking that the inlet and outlets have to be repositioned and rewelded for maximum efficency, is this true?

Koyo running Evans NPG+ Coolant

PWR, like a glove.
Fluidyne, good fit, good quality and good cooling
PWR someone intrest me into buying it because of its weight!
fluidyne .. but if i could go back id probably get a koyo (cheaper and bigger volume) .. fluidyne was not a perfect fit as everyone on the board seems to say (thats why i got it in the first place)
right now stock but im going with the v-mount setup over the winter so..
I got Mazda comp.
koyo. installation was straight foword. no problems.
Koyo
Thanks for the replies thus far, pleas keep them coming!
fluidyne
Koyo, was a tough fit with a M2 SMIC because of the thickness.
Fluidyne. Went in easy fits well with big SMIC

Replacement OEM (at 99K miles). See pics in post #36 of this forum thread.
Voted "other" since I have the OEM radiator, replaced a few years ago as a precaution.

I should have a FEED one coming in soon for myself.
thanks for the link.
I have worked with Thermal Dynamics-Fluidyne's parent company-at work, so I am pretty confident in their quality and performance. I don't know a lot about the Ron Davis radiator - just as good? How is the fitment, quality and performance compared to the Fluidyne? I have no desire to flip, cut, bend factory brackets to make a radiator fit. Its not a big deal to do it - I just don't want to. |
