racing seats, stealing the mazdaspeed name...

Isn't this illegal?

ZeroBanger 02-13-04 10:22 AM

i have to admit I think they look kinda cool though.

Scrub 02-13-04 10:22 AM

unless they're real, which I doubt they are.....yeah I would say it's illegal, but only if they get caught.

SkywarpR 02-13-04 10:37 AM

Damn, those arn't too bad looking for the price they want. I have been looking at getting new seats for a while. My driver side seat has a pretty bad tear. I would be afraid of the quality, not to mention the weight. I bet for that price they are pretty heavy.

ZeroBanger 02-13-04 10:38 AM

yea I dont know how heavy, and I hope they fit. But the price is really good and they look awesome.

GsrSol 02-13-04 12:06 PM

Damn that's cheap! I wonder how the quality is?

"Specifications

How descriptive! I get a high quality long lasting breathable fabric! And the shell is tube frame!!!

I may buy them this weekend.

Those will be a tight fit and may require a bit of work to get the universal brackets to work. I would also have serious concerns about quality and safety. They should not be considered racing seats.

BTW, you can get Corbeau A4s for $320/seat plus $85/each side for FD-specific brackets. At least you know the Corbeau is a quality seat.

For pure race purposes, you can get Corbeau Forzas with FD-specific brackets for about $300/seat.

David, I'll call you later today, you going to be around?

ZeroBanger,

You think it'll fit the FD?

I was looking into these seat for a while now, but can't find any comment on fitting them on the car.

I want biggest seat that fit our FDs. I know Recaro SP-G fit ours cars, but not my body :). So, if you decide to buy those, please let us know the progress.

Damn, they do look awesome for the price. My tan leather is ripping so I may need a new set. Keep us updated!

ZeroBanger 02-13-04 01:38 PM

I dont have any opinion whether they will fit or not. I just think it would be mad yo cool.

Mahjik 02-13-04 01:52 PM

Here's an older thread about them:

https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...hreadid=245728

Doesn't seem like anyone has tried to fit them. So far, the best inexpensive seats that don't have too much problem with fitment (that we know of) seem to be the Corbeau or DAD seats.

RedAnotherDimension 02-13-04 02:13 PM

Who makes seat rales for aftermarket seats? When I had sparcos in, I couldn't find any company that made them and had to modify my stock ones.

The only seats that I can think of, off hand, that has rails specifically for the FD is just Corbeau. The others you'll have to modify the stock or supplied rails to fit them.

I bought a set last week. I should have them early next week and I will be sure to put pics up and report on their quality. I used ebays satisfaction guarantee thing (actually Paypal) that says if I am not satisfied, Paypal will buy them back. I will be out shipping. My only concern is fitment. If they dont fit, I am sure they will fit into a second gen. At that price, I can even afford to have them recovered in the fabric of my choice if necessary. The same company is also selling a DOT approved 4pt mazdaspeed harness.
