r1 dual oil coolers.

i have the 94 touring edition and was wondering about how the r1 has dual oil coolers. is it possible to convert my single oil cooler to a r1 daul oil cooler? is it worth the time and money do convert if possible? does it make a big difference?

also, what are some other things thats different on the r1 compared to the touring? i know the suspension is harder, what else? THANK YOU

Reduced sound deading material, no sunroof, no rear wiper, rear deck spoiler, bumper chin spoiler, brake cooling ducts, suede type material seats, and all black interior.

dual oil cooler signifigantly reduces engine temperature.

If you're going to run your car at the track get the dual coolers. You should be ok with your single oil cooler under most street conditions.

You can upgrade to the R1 Dual Cooler. You'll need the passenger side cooler and the two oil cooler lines and the ducting.

One type looks like a sheet of rubberish metal and the other is an insulation cloth type of sound deadening material. When I pull off the panels from my R2 FD I see no such sound deadening materials. (I notice that R1s have a hollow sounding door when it is closed and my R2 does not) On my old FC, there was a lot of that rubberish type under the floor mat of the trunk. In my FD, I have found a small sheet of insulation right by the shifter knob.

You could upgrade your single oil cooler and it could be equal to that of the R1's dual oil cooler setup, if not better. However, would it be worth it for a street car? I highly dought it. The cost for an upgraded oil cooler is expensive.
