Quick Q: Catch Tank (Emissions)
I forgot to attach the hose to the catch tank while jumping the F/P to ground. Needless to say fuel was squirting up like a fountain. My question is, is fuel supposed to be pumped to the catch tank? Won't the silicone hose attached to the solenoid be ruined also?
I wonder if I read the hose routing diagram wrong? |
you are doing it wrong.... catch cans are for oil only....

Not aftermarket mister. This is OEM.
https://www.rx7club.com/single-turbo-rx-7s-23/catch-tank-throttle-body-charcoal-canister-849761/ Basically fuel goes in to the catch tank and vapors are dumped via solenoid to UIM? HoseTechniques hoses aren't rated for gasoline though? I guess I don't fully understand what this catch tank does. |
You have something hooked up wrong, probably hooked purge solenoid to the fuel feed hard line.

wait oil catch can for fuel purposes?

download the FSM before you burn the car down

That is your charcoal canister. It is for fuel vapors. It is to be attached to the left most hard fuel hose (closest to the passenger side of the car) and is for fuel vapors only as a vent. You have the feed line going into this, which is incorrect and the car will not run.

Fuel lines hooked up wrong. Was looking at the FSM too hard and went crosseyed.
Rookie mistake :( and I'm glad I asked. Thanks everyone! |
