Quick 3 Bar Sensor Question

Ok quick and simple.

At what boost do i need to upgrade to a 3 bar pressure sensor?

Banzai-Racing Mar 21, 2013 06:59 AM

We recommend replacing when going above 1 bar of boost. However, there are people that push the stock 2 sensor to 17psi. I personally feel this is not safe, with all sensors there is the possibility of variances, pushing the stock sensor beyond it's set limitations does not make sense when a 3 bar replacement is available.

Wow ok, i am hoping to go all the way to 20psi so a 3 bar sensor is now on the shopping list.

i wonder where i should buy from.... lol

If you're using Power FC you need to change some settings for it to work like dial in offset nr etc.

Thanks Alpsta,

I have read a few threads about the 3 Bar sensor and how to dial in the scaling, i was just unable to see at what point you need to swap over to a 3 bar sensor.

If any one knows the technical reason for why you need to change please explain, just for my own knowledge. I would like to know how much is allowed for Vacuum and how much is set aside for boost?

1 bar sensor is for N/A
2 bar sensor = 1 bar atmosphere + 1 bar boost
3 bar sensor = 1 bar atmosphere + 2 bar boost

The correct offset and scale settings are included with the sensor kit you bought.

Simple as that, thanks :)
