Question on Non Sequential

Team,
When doing the non seq. can i just take pull out the solenoids, take out the TCA and open the door?? I really dont want to go through the hassle of porting and opening up my turbo. Please let me know if i can do this.

yeah...that will work...i did that myself

however...non seq is laggy. but its worth the experiment to see what peopel are talking about...i put it back to sequential as i cant wait for my power to kick in.

heheheh

you can do a search for poormans non sequential...the way you suggest is the simplest way i believe..

Ohseyun,

Hows it going...all I'm waiting for is new vac hose and then its back together again. Figured out the pesky FPR thing.

Can't wait to try it out. As for lag, the more mods you have the less this is a problem...especially with full exhaust, intake, intercooler...etc.

Rats nest is out and never going back in. Just need to plug vac lines and put some fresh red vac hose in. BOP and then I'm done.

Hopefully I will have it running next week. Can't do anything to it for the next few days because of work.

I miss driving the car!

evot,
if you take out your rats nest, what more vacuum lines do u need? basically arent most of them eliminated?

Your going to need one to the map sensor, FPR, BOV(s), boost gauge, to the boost controller, from the boost controller to the wastegate actuator.

That's what I have run.

Yup, as stated above. I'm replacing all the old stuff that I do need and capping everything else off. You are right though...only need a small amount of hose.

I hope (dear God please) to have the car running next week. I've been neglecting the project.

How's your car running Ohseyun?

yea, you usually get the boost spike when you stick with sequential set up. The transitional spike can cost you your engine. be careful..
if the mods done to your car are to the point where your getting boosts spikes of 14 or more psi then you probably want to go non seq. that will elimate your spike.

team,
isnt there two hoses that leads to the fuel pressure solenoid? I know that i need to reroute on hose to a nipple on the LIM. But what about the other hose? Look right below the nipple on the LIM and there is this little actuator looking thing, thats where the hose comes off and leads to the fuel pressure regulator. Im not talking about the one at the end of the secondary fuel rail. help me....

On the LIM facing the firewall...this nipple to FPR on the secondary fuel rail.

Look at your primary fuel rail. Two nipples facing the LIM. These connect to each other and tee off. See the blue line.

Hope this helps...if its even what you are talking about. I had a hard time with this also.

Trying to start my car was kind of a pain after doing the mod. It was like the car was flooded. Cranked several times before finally starting.

If someone could give me more info on going non-sequential. I am spiking at 16 & 17 and have tripped ECU at 20. I have a pettit street proted engine, dp,mp,cb, twin k&n intake, charge III intercooler, pettit ecu, on stock twins. just purchased a profec B, will this help solve or do I need to go non-sequential.

Thanks

going nonsequential will not solve your boost spike, might actually contribute to it.

The profec B may or may not allow you to hold boost. It holds mine with nonsequential but many others it does not.

Only solution I have been told and experienced is to port the wastegate.

Take this info with caution as it is correct for me and may not be for you.

Evot23, don't you mean that non-sequential will NOT help with boost CREEP as opposed to boost SPIKING (at transition). There would be no transition if one went non-sequential.

Porting wastegate is for controlling boost creep.

At this is my understanding.

Wait so there is still boost creep just not spike when going non-seq??

If you have a free flowing exhaust (dp, mp, cb) then you will have to port the wastegate. Despite the porting of the wastegate some people still have problems. I think the solution would be to run a high flow cat, but this might work against the spool up of the turbos.
