Question?

I am looking at selling my seven and I was wondering how much i could get for it with a rebuild. I have a 1994 black R2 with 76k miles with good compression, but everyone seems to be bi%*%ing at my price and wont stop complaining about engine with no rebuild. So I was wondering how much I could get with the new rebuild. Here are my mods right now.
dp
high flow cat
racing beat exhaust
apexi FC and commander
AST
petit CAI
fluidyne radiator with new hoses
also have boost gauge and water temp gauge

Also, if I do the rebuild, should I go ahead and add other mods while I have the engine out (ie new spark plug wires, vaccum hoses, etc)?

Thanks for you help.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. If you're getting good compression numbers and don't have any seal failure, why would you rebuilt it? It sounds like you have a pretty clean FD. What are you asking for it?

Well you're at a mileage where it can hurt you. Many buyers will expect a new engine soon, and knock $5k off the price in their heads. If you rebuild it, you won't be getting a dime more than $18k, I assure you of that.

Yes, 94 R2s aren't too common, but most buyers won't pay more for it. I think you might get someone to bite at $16-17k if the car is in immaculate condition though, but you'll need to be patient.

I believe 16-17k would be a good selling price.

You would be crazy to pull a good working engine to replace it with a reman. Spending that much more money to sell your car is not a good option.

Tell people the compression #s, it shows no signs of a bad coolant seals and sell it for no less than 16.5k. IMO it shows the car been well cared for.

Just for reference, I got my clean 94 Touring 3 years ago for a hair under 13k. It had 80k miles, car is white, glass sunroof, black leather, had a reman with 40k miles, catback and tokico illuminas. I know FDs have gone up in price since I bought mine but I figure you can at the very least, get $15k for it. Did you put $18k obo in your ad? Take some offers and go from there. Do you have a link to your ad?
