Yes they're Prodrive, but they have nothing to do with Subaru. Prodrive in involved with the Subaru WRC team, but they make parts for many cars as well.

One top of the fact that they have an exclusive line of wheels just for Subaru fitment..."The Prodrive GT1 alloy wheel is one of the latest additions to an exclusive line of wheels for the Subaru range of vehicles."......hmmmm ;)

Ryan it's a conspiracy. Dan actually photoshopped his wheels onto those cars so he could prove you wrong. Don't worry, I've got your back. I found the original photo of the Aston Martin with the real wheels, before he photoshopped his lame ass Prodrive wheels on there. I'm uploading it to this thread as evidence. :icon_tup:

Are $400-a-set Endless pads really twice as good as say, Hawk HP+ or Porterfield, etc race pads?

^^In my experience, I'd say definitely yes vs the HP+.

Based on what I've read online, if you want a pad that doesn't chew up rotors, offers great modulation, good initial bite, pad wear and is consistent all the way to the backing plate, then Endless is a great choice. The rears have performed well thus far, and I'm excited about installing my fronts.

Also, look at what pads top level sports-car racing teams are purchasing out of their budget, as opposed to being given free via sponsorship :)

I have a set of Hawk HT10 in RacingBrake specific fitment if you guys want to give them a try. My FD is retiring from track work for a while now that I'm racing Spec Miata.

The fluid is more than $30 a bottle... stuff like that adds up FAST.

The DTC line from Hawk is amazing compared to everything else I've tried. They also are not $400 /set. The HP+ is a street pad that isn't terrible at the track but is nothing compared to a true performance pad. The DTC's last longer too. I've been using DTC-70 front and hp+ rear for the past 3 seasons but this year I'm gonna try DTC-60 front and DTC-30 rear. The DTC-70's do indeed bite into the rotor but its not as bad as most would think, I've been using the original rotors since I got the Stoptechs 3 years ago and am only getting new rotors this year. I've put about ~60-70,000 km on the rotors including all the track events and the 3 trips to the DGRR.

+1 for Hawk DTC compound pads, great race pads that don't kill the wallet

I spent a long time going back and fourth with the hawk engineers trying to get simple data from them for a brake setup I was trying to put together (temp and or mu charts... even just a mu average) for their pads. They wouldn't (because they didn't have it from the lack of brake dyno testing) provide it. Hawks have one advantage.... they are cheap. The downsides are they eat rotors like a fat man at a buffet, dust like mad, and have pretty narrow operating temperature windows. I see hawks "track pads" as more along the lines of learner pads... if you're not sure you want to get into tracking your car or are a noob hawks are a good (cheap) place to start and get some track time under your belt. After you are a little seasoned you will realize the limitations of the hawk lineup. That said I run HP+ on my street miata cause they are cheap (which sees alot of canyon carving time) and by the end of my "circuit" the hp+ are fading pretty miserably...

I disagree that Hawks are "learner" or "noob" pads. The DTC-60s that I run on my front brakes have been fade free for me for the last 10 or 11 track days and time trials I've run. Also, my rotors are fine, and the temp window is quite wide. The only problem I've seen from them is mild dusting which isn't a big concern for a track pad in my opinion. I think all of those poor qualities that you mentioned come from Hawks old race compounds Blue and Black. I don't think HP+'s should be mentioned (they are in every discussion about track pads) since they are street pads and have no place on the track. Endless pads are great (from what I hear and see in terms of many professional teams using them) I won't deny that, however, Hawk pads can work extremely well for half the cost.

Well, just how are race pads on the street anyway?

A friend of mine has Endless, I think, and they were really loud in normal driving. Although supposedly they're great for performance driving. But I have to wonder how cold performance and noise are. I don't want to press on the brakes when I need them and have them just make a lot of noise while I slam into the back of someone.

How well does the parking brake work on hills when the brakes are cold?

My Hawks are pretty good on the street, though they dust when not warm and squeal. I haven't had an issue with them cold on the street in terms of braking ability or the parking brake function.
