Are $400-a-set Endless pads really twice as good as say, Hawk HP+ or Porterfield, etc race pads?

^^In my experience, I'd say definitely yes vs the HP+.
This thread just got a lot more interesting, can't believe the vaunted FD Killer made an appearance :lol: |

Based on what I've read online, if you want a pad that doesn't chew up rotors, offers great modulation, good initial bite, pad wear and is consistent all the way to the backing plate, then Endless is a great choice. The rears have performed well thus far, and I'm excited about installing my fronts. Also, look at what pads top level sports-car racing teams are purchasing out of their budget, as opposed to being given free via sponsorship :) |
I have a set of Hawk HT10 in RacingBrake specific fitment if you guys want to give them a try. My FD is retiring from track work for a while now that I'm racing Spec Miata.

+1 for Hawk DTC compound pads, great race pads that don't kill the wallet

I spent a long time going back and fourth with the hawk engineers trying to get simple data from them for a brake setup I was trying to put together (temp and or mu charts... even just a mu average) for their pads. They wouldn't (because they didn't have it from the lack of brake dyno testing) provide it. Hawks have one advantage.... they are cheap. The downsides are they eat rotors like a fat man at a buffet, dust like mad, and have pretty narrow operating temperature windows. I see hawks "track pads" as more along the lines of learner pads... if you're not sure you want to get into tracking your car or are a noob hawks are a good (cheap) place to start and get some track time under your belt. After you are a little seasoned you will realize the limitations of the hawk lineup. That said I run HP+ on my street miata cause they are cheap (which sees alot of canyon carving time) and by the end of my "circuit" the hp+ are fading pretty miserably...

Well, just how are race pads on the street anyway?
A friend of mine has Endless, I think, and they were really loud in normal driving. Although supposedly they're great for performance driving. But I have to wonder how cold performance and noise are. I don't want to press on the brakes when I need them and have them just make a lot of noise while I slam into the back of someone. How well does the parking brake work on hills when the brakes are cold? |

anyone try the Bonez pads from rx7.com? I already have Powerslot slotted (not drilled) rotors front and rear.
