Nice video. Track looks really nice. That's pretty fast, I never realized you can get up to speeds like 140 on that track.

What was your quickest lap time of the day and who had the faster lap time, you or Rich?

Thanks,

Anthony

Anthony, Thanks. I actually didn't even record my lap times this time. I think 145 is possible if you get a good enough run off the last turn. I would assume my lap times were faster since once I passed him he didn't return..I don't think he was really recording his lap times either. I do plan on purchasing some sort of data acquisition or lap timing equipment in the near future.

How old? Vet racers eh?

Not sure what years they were to be honest. I think they were late 80's early 90's 911's.

Another preview...I'll post the rest tomorrow :)

Rich, they let you run the center caps on the track?

cabaynes 04-18-11 03:18 AM

Looking good guys, but Dan you sooooo need an external mic. That video is awful to listen to!

Scrub 04-18-11 11:19 AM

second video.....I figured out how to reduce the buzzing slightly, but it also muffles the audio. I thought I was going to get the point by by the Cobra on the front straight, so he caught me off guard when he went ahead and floored it instead.

That was a cool vid, I can't believe I never thought to attach a gopro to my helmet...definitely makes if feel like you're the one in the cockpit racing.

I'm running Racing brake bbk front and rear with Endless PC35 Race pads, Endless MX72 rears coming (Currently Racing Brake ET500), Endless RF650 high temperature fluid. The PC35 is a heavy duty racing brake pad mainly used for WTCC, WRC and Dakar Rallies. I was offered a deal I couldn't refuse for the pads so I decided to give them a shot.

The difference between the PC35 pads and my ET500's was night and day. The pedal feel and initial bite was improved vastly over anything I've run before. They do squeal quite a bit on the street when cold, but once they get some heat in them the noise goes away. I'm looking forward to seeing what some of the other Endless pads feel like once these are toast.

not ALL the cars haha.

GoodfellaFD3S 04-18-11 10:43 PM

^^Yeah, the race-prepped Porsches on Hoosiers were getting the old 'immediate point-by' from me when I saw them come flying up in my rearview :D

Edit: I just added up my fuel receipts from the day, and I spent $181.39...... in one day. Wow, that has to be some kinda record. I had to fill up the next morning too before leaving the beautiful state of Delaware

yzf-r1 04-18-11 11:10 PM

Racing is expensive - plus tires, hotel (in most cases), etc etc

scrub's car is a little sharper looking - no offense there Rich, both look good

thisiscainyo 04-18-11 11:11 PM

i have raced that track a ton of times with my bike. Crashed at lightning twice. i dunno if i'd wanna bring my car out there tho... luck is not on my side.

With the petrol prices here, each fill up costs me $200 :(

None taken Mark, we disagree on most of our viewpoints so I'd expect nothing less

How many miles did you drive? I'd be intrested to see what your MPG was with a 500whp FD gets on the track.

I have to admit I am impressed...

(but damn, one of your tires cost more than I paid for my FC...)

What is your suspension? I don't even see a hint of body lean...

rizzxx7 04-19-11 10:24 AM

what exhaust is scrub running on his car?

Both Dan and Rich run ZEALs. :)

GoodfellaFD3S 04-19-11 12:09 PM

^^yup, and I freaking love them too...... my level of grip and cornering speeds went up a lot vs my old Tanabe coilovers.

I'm also rocking Endless RF650 fluid and Endless MX72 rear pads. Going to be installing MX72 fronts to match as the RB ET800 pads arent cutting it.
