It's been in my how-to section since you wrote it. On my next update I'll add the info about the floppy drive connector.

Yeah I saw it in your How-To section, but some of the pics in that section aren't showing up. Informative site though nonetheless

I had a hard drive crapping out and it was corrupting my images - so I updated the site and screwed it all up - it should all be back to normal now.

no key

Is this at all possible without using the key? Does the S2000 have to use a key as well as the button?

The S2000 uses a key. You turn it to Acc and hit the button.

SilverRX7 Aug 11, 2002 08:34 PM

hmm... thanks.

This ones for you buddy...;)

Anyone have this mod with a turbo timer? Would it make a difference?

ejmack1 Oct 8, 2002 02:29 PM

no it doesn't :)

dubulup Oct 8, 2002 02:40 PM

What about the fan mod and turbo timer? does it still work the same?

damian Jan 9, 2003 10:52 PM

the instructions say:
"Now run the middle wire from the button to something that is powered up by the “ON” position of the key switch...like the 'cruise control power lead"

...can someone give me more detail on what lead that is?

BLKTOPTRVL Jan 11, 2003 07:06 PM

If I were going through the trouble (it sounds considerable) of installing the start button, I would also relocate the ignition (on/off key switch) to a hidden location and then leave the original ignition switch (disconnected) where it is as a decoy.

This way you get your start switch, and also a little more theft protection.

damian Jan 12, 2003 03:12 AM

actualy, the mod we are talking about here keeps the key switch for theft protection, you cant start the car with just the button...you need to put the key in and turn it to the 'on' position before the button will start the car

... but i like ur idea...

ejmack1 Jan 12, 2003 08:40 AM

yawn... hmmm, i might remove the use of a key to start the car... who needs theft protection... :D

I was not suggesting removing the key function, I was suggesting relocating it - in it's entirety (minus the start function to another location and keeping the old key in place as a dummy.
