Progress Report

Well I am in the process of going single and my car has been sitting collecting dust for about the past month and a half. Finally went over and washed her so I could take some pictures. As far as progress on the single conversion its all done just waiting to get some engine bay parts back from my coater so expect pictures of the engine bay next weekend. Please comment and let me know what you think of her progress shes coming together beautifully and i honestly couldnt be prouder to call her mine. IM going to lower the rear about 1/2 inch and the front about 1 inch. Havent put the center caps on because the rims are coming back off to put on the SS brake lines I just got. Waiting on 99 spec carbon fiber front lip and the re-street diffuser shine just finished in carbon fiber. Thanks for looking and reading.

Yeah im going to be taking the panels off in the next week or so to put some new speakers in so i can take some more pictures of the doors. As far as the paint scheme its not paint its carbon fiber I get that alot though its hard to tell without the right lighting. And yes they are c-west lights.

Trispeed if you are in town and would like to come by and look at it just let me know. As far as fitment with the carbon fiber the only piece I had problems with was the passenger fender. Everything else fit very well with minor fixxings. As far as how the car was when i started well here are some pictures of what it look like when i picked it up in december. Thanks

Well, I get out of the navy next week and will be living in Lathrop (209). We go to fremont pretty often, so I wouldn't mind meeting up, and kickin it, since I will need to get to know most of the norcal rotary guys. I'll just swap info with you next week. I might have a Welcome home BBQ and you're invited to come over!

Ahh! So you got it! You just beat me to purchasing this car... I had to get access to a truck and trailer for a weekend before I could put a deposit down. Right when I got access you had just bought the car!

Glad to see it went to someone who rebuilt it. Does it run well?

Well Im just finishing up all the little things. Here are some updated pictures. Feels good to have everything coming together. I cant seem to find a carbon fiber bumper which I like so i think Im just going to get a carbon front lip but I think it would be nice to finish up the front end in carbon. Little detail pieces i still need to get for the engine bay...Red radiator hoses, new filter little stuff like that. Thanks for reading and looking.

I'm not a big fan of carbon fiber aside from it's obvious weight advantages and that it doesn't get door dings...

BUT - nonetheless, you've brought the most beautiful car back from the dead. Props to you. Glad to see it will live another day.

Nice looking engine bay too. I like the black.

You could always step the carbon look up a notch. How about wrapping the rest of the body in real carbon sheets then clearcoat it for a nice smooth gloss finish?

I had a friend that covered his20B JC Cosmo dash in real carbon sheets and it came up looking amazing. he has sold that now and is putting a 20B into his 2006 RX8!

PS I love your wheels!

Well been lazy lately havent really worked on the car in a while got over there today to take care of some projects I wanted to start. Spent a good 5 hours in the back with a heat gun and a scraper trying to get all the crap in the back up. Still got a ways to go but hey its coming along. Been looking for the two pods i want for the past year and finally got them not sure if Im goign to keep the gauges yet. Hopefully ill be putting something back in the engine bay in the next three weeks.

I like the weight advantage of the carbon fiber, however I think it looks a bit silly not painted. I personally hate the Cwest headlights, especially even more so without the entire kit. Just different taste I guess, I think the headlights look cheap and "ricy". I think it looked better wingless, the wing is just too much.

Don't take any of this the wrong way, just personal opinion. Clean car, though. The old pics from the single kit looked nicely done and very clean.

Don't sell it!! Trust me, you'll regret it!
