Problem Almost Fixed! Help?
LOL AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAA!! I am such a moron!!! I had the damn hose from the MAP sensor on the wrong NIPPLE!! My car idles perfectly fine now at around 1100 rpm, and 15-18psi vacuum, steadily. Stopped smoking. Ok, now I have more problems. LOL. Ok sorry. Anyways, now the car is real rough under like 3 grand, and I am not getting full boost, sometimes no boost, and when the boost does come on I hear this kind of rattling noise. Also, I took out the EGR solenoid, because it broke, would it be because of that? Could it be a misplaced vacuum hose in the Rats Nest? Also, in 5th gear it wont go past 3500rpm. Any help? Thanks guys!
But I just put brand new plugs in a little bit before that happened. I'll check them again, but if they aren't fouled, than what could be the problem? And that damn rattling noise when the car starts boosting? And getting a shaky, hesitant, boost only to about 5psi? Thanks for the advice by the way Rikki
. Any other advice anyone??

Well, I have a set of brand new ones laying around for just these instances. But the thing is would that explain that rattling/almost grinding noise when my turbo starts boosting?
1100 rpm is not normal at idle, 5 psi of primary is most likely one of the following: leak in plumbing, chareg relief valve, or ABV.
more than that, 1100 rpm could be leak from manifodl gaskets, etc. and could also be related to the boost porblem. No quick answer here, you just haev to do some work to figure out what the problem is.

Thanks KZ1, but that still doesn't explain the rattling problem. When boost comes on, or at high rpms under hard acceleration the car shakes and it almost feels like its not getting spark or something, but the plugs looked ok. This is hell.
This might be silly, but check the metal pipes attached to the turbos, the intake for the secondary and the y-pipe. It may also be possible that you have your plug wires on the wrong plugs. If your idling at 1,100 and not boosting right then you have a problem. You might want to go back and check all the hoses you just covered up with the UIM. If your car never did this before the hose job then you must have done something to make it do this. Go back and double check every area where you did anything to the car. This may just be a shot in the dark, but I hope I can be of some help.
Hey, thanks P'cola, I appreciate it. I just got in my car right now and drove down the street and all of the sudden I started smelling a strong coolant smell inside the car, and it started smoking a little bit inside even ( I had my A/C on also). This sucks!! It never ends!! I think I might just drive her to Pettit tomorrow and let them look at it.
Try resetting your ECU, and if you messed with the air adjuster screw, the fast idle cam, or the throttle stop screw, set them all back to where they were. As for the rattle, I agree with P'cola that you may have a loose secondary intake pipe. Put your hand on the pipe and see if it rocks back and forth. Just check for problems, and if you have to, take the UIM off again and compare everything to the manual, or vacuum diagram.
I tried resetting my ECU, nothing. Where is the air adjuster screw, fast idle cam, and throttle stop screw and how do I adjust them? You mean the soft rubber intake pipe?? Thanks guys.
I get the little rattling sound at low RPM too under load...around 2k maybe a little less as i am accelerating i hear this ratling sound but it goes away around 3k rpm...my idle is fine at about 750 rpm. i have a hole in my muffler from rust, could that be causing that rattling sound?

93TT, I dont think it is the same rattling sound. Mine only come on when getting boost at 5 psi. Can anyone help me with my above post??

get to the boost problem, it may lead you in the right direction for other problems.
Thanks KZ1
. The spark plug wires are on the plugs fine, but one of the bolts on the intake elbow is stripped!!! I cant get the damn thing off! Yea I just did vacuum hose job. I took out the EGR solenoid. Maybe it is the absence of that? I was also thinking that maybe I connected some hoses wrong in the rats nest. My car stumbles alot under 3 grand and when I am flooring it and its in boost. So could it have something to do with fuel delivery and/or spark? After I get this damn bolt off the intake elbow I am going to replace the plug wires, see if that helps. Ill check the acv too, even though I didnt mess with it really. Also, there were a couple hoses (one coming from the lower intake manifold, I think) where I wasnt too sure where it went, and a couple others. Thanks everyone.
