Unhappy problem after double throttle removal???

hi...i recently took off my uim to polish and decided that i would remove the double throttle as well...i made a block off plate to cover the hole made by the shaft to prevent air from entering...however the vacuum line running to the double throttle is still there...

when i put back everything and start the car the car immediately lidles higher than usual...also i experience a boost problem and a hunting problem when the car warms up...

what can this be?...i was told that it may be the gaskets...what do you think?

Check your IAC screw and double check all the solenoids that attach to the bottom of the UIM to make sure the vac lines are routed properly.

You very likely have a vacuum leak - something isn't sealed up right. Any air leaks after the throttle body will raise idle and make the car run really weird.

One easy way to find leaks - get a can of starting fluid, and slowly spray a squirt here and there where a leak might be. When the engine sucks the starting fluid in, it will rev up/smooth out.

well im just updating here...

the gaskets were in perfect shape...i played with the idle screw to no avail...a hose connected to the uim was loose so this immediately cured the high idle when reconnected...however the car still had an annoying hunt...

i replaced my tps to a brand new unit...adjusted it correctly...but still it did not help much...when driving with lights on and a/c on the car would still hunt terribly...i searched this forum an saw that someone had relearned the idle on the pfc...i gave it a shot...and i am glad to say that my idle is perfect...i am very grateful for any help i received via this forum...thanks!!!

im in the process of removing all the emissions and doing all the block off plates and i was wondering for the double throttle... once is taken out what do i do with the vaccuum line connected to it? do i just block that off? leave it open? will this affect my idle?

I did mine with the Banzai block-off plate kit, no leaks at all. The car actually runs BETTER than before the emissions removal. very strange.
