Which premix are you guys using???

Which premix are you guys using for your FD's?? Mazdatrix sells (IDEMITSU) brand anybody ever try these???
http://www.mazdatrix.com/q-supply.htm
I am using a Microtech LtX-8 and it will not control my OMP so I have to premix.

Beast From The East 03-02-08 07:39 PM

I used Redline Synthetic smokeless but since I use Wolf 3D I've retained my omp (the Wolf has omp controls). I'm just now switching to the Idemitsu stuff when I go to Thunderhill next weekend.

2007 ZX-10R 03-02-08 08:38 PM

I run either Idemitsu or Amsoil synthetic two stroke pre-mix ("Interceptor"), about 8 oz per fill up...I've been doing this for almost two years, OMP disconnected

Brent Dalton 03-02-08 08:41 PM

I use Idemitsu as well.

13BNUT 03-02-08 10:22 PM

sounds good to me, especially since Mazdatrix is about 3 blocks from where I live
LOL.
Thanks guys

stay away from this stuff, it leaves ugly deposits...I've seen it first hand on the power valves on my waverunner

Amsoil synthetic two stroke is worlds better

RX7 RAGE 03-03-08 12:32 AM

Idemitsu here.

13BNUT 03-03-08 08:01 PM

Seventh Heaven 03-03-08 10:13 PM

I also use Idemitsu.

13BNUT 03-03-08 10:34 PM

Mazdatrix recommends 1/2oz of Idemitsu oil with every gallon of fuel, what ratios are you using?

grimple1 03-03-08 11:21 PM

castrol 2-stroke premix.

that's what I run (no OMP, either)

it really doesn't take much oil to keep the seals lubricated, unless you are racing, 100:1 in far too rich imo

I never knew, this is what my friend was using and told me it was good... Where can you pick up Amsoil synthetic at? Thanks for pointing that out man.

And you base this on......?

We've been through this in another thread, yzf :)

Here's my opinion:

when it comes to the health of motor internals, I'd rather be safe than sorry.

8 ozs for 18 gallons of gas is a 369:1 ratio. That's not even remotely close to 100:1.

I run 1 oz per gallon Idemitsu premix (164:1 ratio) *with* a working OMP, and see zero smoke out the tailpipe, with zero added smell. You wouldn't even know I premix.

I'm going to get in touch with Idemitsu, I'm fairly certain their recommendation is based on a working OMP, unless their product is way superior to 'regular' premix. Then maybe we can get an authoritative answer and cease all the speculation.

dirttracker64 03-04-08 05:33 AM

Im using Protek-R

EZFD 03-04-08 07:46 AM

I use 1 oz. per gallon of Amsoil HP injector 2 stroke without the MOP. After what Goodfella said about no smoke and no smell with Idemsu, i might try that, my car smells llike shit.

IEatVipers4Brkfast 03-04-08 08:09 AM

Any of you guys try Klotz?
It makes the tail of a bike or quad smell awesome.
Just wondering how it would do in our cars.

Where is everyone finding Idemitsu?

empireracing 03-04-08 08:30 AM

Protek-R

Kit1612 03-04-08 09:28 AM

I use Idemitsu as well. I buy them at mazdatrix.com.

zinx 03-04-08 09:51 AM

I use whatever TCW-3 is on the shelf, usually pick up a name brand over a store brand. I usually buy whatever they have on the shelf since they don't carry much.

I generally mix 1 oz to a gallon, but i'll put in more if i'm heading to the strip.

what I've read in the past, unfortunately I can't cite sources

I would tend to agree, but I also don't want to foul my plugs...that has happened and it sucks

actually 0.5/128 oz is 1:256

interesting, because if I've been bogging it for awhile, I see a ton of smoke come out of the tailpipe when I get on it, then it clears up...perhaps I'm running plugs that are too cold, but thery're just NGK 9s

that really is the key question

Then maybe we can get an authoritative answer and cease all the speculation.
great, look forward to your follow-up post, Rich
