Porting Question

Im looking into buying a third gen with a blown engine i was thinking about getting it ported since im rebuilding it, what i want to know is what porting will effect whats it benifts and non-benifts, i most likely looking at a street port since i do not have that much money here (payments for the car) Also if i were to get it ported street or bridge would I need a aftermarket ecu like pfc or something or would the stock be find (with downpipe). Why should i port? or why i should not? I have no big plans yet becasue money will be tight for a year or so but i would eventually like to get more power so im looking at it know. By the way any other things that i should get done at this stage? Any help would be great thx.

I have learned by watching that you are throwing yourself to the wolves by posting questions like these that have been covered so many times.

Porting increases air volume into the engine. The more air you add the more fuel you need. So i would suggest upgrading the ecu. i havent been working on these kinds of motors for that long. However from what i hear, the stock ports are pretty good especially if your planning on staying with the stock twins.

If i was you i would do some research and use the search. There are alot of good writeups and posts on almosts anything you can think of.

You really need to spend a LOT more time researching, the fact that you even mentioned a bridgeport with your situation shows you don't know much about the topic. There is a ton of info on the forum regarding porting. I also strongly suggest you go to various rx7 shop websites and read their thoughts on the matter.

Here's a few sites to get started:
