Please help

I bought my rx-7 a few months ago and took it to the shop b/c it was constantly smoking from under the hood and out my exhaust...turns out...i had some bad oil leaks and bad seals...so my engine was replaced with the 3rd party warranty I got when I bought the car from the dealership. So with the motor already out i'm replacing all my radiator hoses and vacuum hoses with silicon. I'm adding some water temp, oil pressure, and boost gauges, turbo timer, BOV, and dp/exhaust while i'm at it...but any other suggestions for what I should do? This car is taking all my money and I wanna make sure it runs right after I get it out the shop so any input I'd appreciate....

Depending on the miles on that engine, I would go ahead and rebuild it (whiles the parts are still usable).

Are you going to have the Mazda Dealership do the Engine replacement? I wouldn't do it. I believe that you do not have to have the Mazda dealership do the work for it to be covered under the third party warranty.(I could be wrong)

I noticed that you are also in the Bay Area. I would take the car to Rick's Rotary in Pleasanton and have him actually remove your engine and rebuild it. He knows his stuff and has a very good reputation of doing great work and standing by it.

The reason why I recommend against Mazda doing the R&R, is because they are just going to install REMANufactured motor in your car. Do a search on "Reman" and you'll find a hell of alot people with bad experiences with Reman's from Mazda.

I also recommend that you pick up an ECU. PowerFC($1000) or M2 Stage III rechipped ECU($450 used) You could also pick-up a Koyo Radiator($330) and aluminum AST($90)
