Pics of what you're getting into with the EBAY manifolds

Not THAT bad, but it hits the LIM. .96 a/r. I think we're just going to mod the flange to turn outward a hair... Not really a big issue. Other than that, it fits great. I'm still hearing that aside from small fitment issues, this manifold holds up well. We'll see. :)

Looks pretty. What's that there guage dealy next to the alternator? Also, please link to the manifold on eBay, in case I want one :)

BoOsTin FD 09-13-03 05:04 PM

that's fuel pressure regulator I think :). It looks badass.

jdhuegel1 09-13-03 05:09 PM

The gauge next to the alternator is fuel pressure. Its mounted on the FPR. The seller of the manifold is SSAUTOCHROME on Ebay. Doesn't look like they have any up right now. Just remember, it's a TO4 flange, but a .96 will hit the LIM so you'll have to get it modded a bit. I'll put up pics as SOON as I get it finished. :)

racerfoo 09-13-03 05:10 PM

looks like a nice setup. the only thing i would be concerened with is the heat...especially with it touching the manifold. im a big newbie, but it looks like the LIM would get pretty hot and affect your intake temps quite a bit. other than that the whole thing looks awesome!

You're VERY right. It's Jet-hot coated, and I'll be shielding it. Thanks for the input!

Gotta love having a turbo the size of a rotor! Looks sweeeeet:cool:

How much was the manifold, outta curiosity?

I got the manifold for 150.00. It needs some modification though.. It would fit a tad smaller turbo perfect!

Astro 09-14-03 12:33 AM

did you make the mount for the FPR?

Yeah. Just a piece of aluminum that bolts to the UIM at the 2 free 10MM bolts on the front. I can take some closer pics if you like. I made it real thin so the FPR doesn't stick out too far and hit the Strut brace. :)

unixpilot 09-14-03 01:24 PM

For a single newbie, what turbo is that in the pics?

rxrotary2_7 09-14-03 02:24 PM

looks good. glad everything is comming together for you. if you need help making a new flange/spacer just ask. ;)
for questions on his fuel set up, more info/pics can be seen here. :) https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...hreadid=217667

It's a freak. A TO4Z I think? It's a TO4 with a T51 wheel on the front. 76mm. .96a/r on the back. Heard it's good for a ton of HP. I just used it for fitment... I have a TO4R on order. :)

Dino,

Hope to have it at least put back together in a month. It takes forever when you never have time, if you know what I mean. I just do it a little at a time when I have some to spare. :)

Not sure if it would cause other fitment issues, but it seems a thick spacer plate might accomplish the same thing and would be easy to machine...

Just a thought.

That is just plain AWESOME!!

Keep us posted and please do a write-up on performance after to put your FD back on the street.

I have that manifold for sale, if anyone needs one. I bought it from ebay, but decieded to buy a kit instead.

And a good thought. I'm also looking into a spacer. Trying to decide whether to put it on the manifold side or the turbo side. I've seen them on both. I also have a guy who almost specializes in making these damn things fit right... I'll be sure to put up more pics when I get it done. :)

Justin....... We can get a spacer made for the exhaust side for about 35-40$. This works perfect. You'll need a 1/2" spacer for the turbo you are going with. Anything bigger and you will need a 3/4" spacer.

I'll get them to you tonight. I'm actually thinking about having a shop make a nice sturdy SS one. I can always get 2 made. :)

CowsniperRX7 09-16-03 08:49 PM

That looks awesome Justin. I'll have to stop by and check it out some day.

Resource 09-16-03 10:30 PM

no dyno for me. I can't afford the gas to even drive my car. It's actually in the bodyshop getting some painting done right now.
