very nice daily driver, I am really thingking about the wingless look, it is starting to look better than the wing look...

tlehnen 07-21-04 01:00 PM

KaiFD3S. You'll never regret parting with that wing. Designer's put that thing on there primarily to help sell the car as Wing's were in then....Really doesn't match orginal lines on car. Only my opinion.

I probably will take it out next week when I put my wheels on..

TwinTurbo93 07-21-04 01:07 PM

Thanks for the compliments guys,
yea I'm happy I didn't have the money about 4-5 years ago when I wanted the R1 wing to put it on.

How does the suv compare to the fd speedwise? I never drove one but people say they're hella-quick.

Nothing in the world compares to FD's !
As a SUV performance this is by far (not to brag about it) the best handling and performing one I ever driven before and I drove all sorts of them, feels more like driving a smaler sports car not a huge SUV as it is, btw is a bit bigger than the X5 inside and outside.
Speed whise is OK, I got the V6 so it's not that fast but it has lots of tork and takes off like a mo-fo,I love it so far.

RX7UP 07-21-04 11:05 PM

Looks like a great calender ... I'm a fan of Miss April.......

scratchjunkie 07-21-04 11:10 PM

Porsche Cayenne do any of them come turbocharged?

and i like the wingless look too, but maybe its because i dont have one. the only wing i like is the 99+.

chiminoid 07-21-04 11:12 PM

Nice cars! I still wouldn't call a porsche cayenne a daily driver or a beater.

Enconsiderate 07-21-04 11:19 PM

lol....uh yea, i dont think you can call the cayenne a "beater"

and yea they make the cayenne w/turbos. puting out about 450hp. MSRP is about $88K

non turbo is about 350hp

i want to race a turbo cayenne soooo bad. its not that hard to find one here in so.cal.... keep an eye out on the kills section ;)

prew 07-21-04 11:35 PM

your fd is so simple and so good looking. really makes me realize i ruined the lines of mine with cwest crap. nice porsche too.

steve

twinturboteddy 07-22-04 12:00 AM

NO TURBO NO CARE!!!!

J/K

Awesome car

GoRacer 07-22-04 12:14 AM

Porsche SUV ...isn't that an oxymoron?

Love the rims on the 7! What kind and sizes are they?

RXtacy 07-22-04 01:57 AM

Where did you get the smoked turn lamps, or who tinted them?

rotoryspeeddreamz 07-22-04 02:51 AM

Wow John your car sure looks nice. Gives me something to aspire to ;)

Good job finding a location in NY to take some quality pics of your cars.

Jason

C-westin'FD 07-22-04 03:19 AM

nice cars!!

TwinTurbo93 07-22-04 09:13 AM

Thank you all for the kind words and compliments.

RX7UP
Lol, thanks, I like miss july myself , hahaha, you got that from a movei (I can't remember the name) with Eddie Murphie and Donnei DeVitto, call miss april...lol. right?

scratchjunkie, chiminoid, Enconsiderate
Well she like it or not she's my daily beater, no porsche gonna take the number 1 place on my top 2 list, not over my baby.
Yes the Turbo cayenne, the fully loaded one is close to $ 100K out the door (to bad I don't have the money, that would of been my pick, lol).

prew
Thanks Steve, I allways where a fan of simplicity, all I wanted to add to my car was the R1 wing long time ago (I didn't have the money and never did, than) and the R1 lip which was a must and I still love it today.
I realy like the C-west kit and I think if I had a silver FD maybe I would of donne it, but the stock FD lines are superb and my car will stay like that for as long as she lives.

twinturboteddy
Thanks, lol, alot of the times I wish she had a turbo (maybe one day I throw one in there when the waranty expires), she's got alot of tork a pretty powerfull machine I must say, immagine if there was a turbo, OMG...

GoRacer
lol, rims are 18's MM evo 5's!

RXtacy
I smoked them myself, I bot the nightshades spray from summitracing.com and some clear coat from local auto store, the side lenses where the clear ones so they look IMO little better than the stockers smoked.

rotoryspeeddreamz
Thanks Jason, that place is at my uncles house upstate NY 1.5h away from nyc, I went there to hang out on a sunday so I killed 2 birds with one stone, lol.

C-westin'FD
Thanks.

Son of bi**h, I edited my sig and is still the same, not doing my changes... sh*t...

EVS.TurboTuner 07-22-04 09:28 AM

Nice cars!

I have driven the Cayenne Turbo as a demo, and yes it really is fast for a GVWR of 6000lbs+ SUV. I believe 0-60 was 5.3 secs, just as fast as the stock RX7. The top speed is 165, which I think will beat a RX7. The Cayenne Turbo shines at the top end with the 450hp! I raced my friends M Coupe on the roll and beat him. It doesn't launch well, but when its rolling its fast!

I would like the Gemballa Cayenne Turbo!!

John Gazivoda.

You didn't have money for an R1 wing 4 years ago and now you're buying a Cayenne? Wow. Good 4 years huh? :p:

Nice cars. I don't think I'd personally go for such a high priced SUV, but that's just me. :)

Realy, that's odd.
Before I bot this car I went around driving lots of SUV's to try to find something that rides more like a car not like a SUV and also drove the infinity FX 45 (a friend of mines owns it) many times, it's a great car and I digg it alot, lots of power to but when I drove the Cayenne my heart started pounding real fast, I got that rush I usualy get when I drive my FD and I whanna race someone, and I knew that was it I must of had it.
Up to 70-80 mph most of the cars handle good especialy now a days with all sorts of tunned susp. but what amazas me is that sometimes I hit 100 mph or over and I take turns so good it makes me fell like the FD that's how good the handling is, very secure, no oversteering or fishtailing so easy, I even did some drifting with it once or twice and it was amazing....

The Efini's nice but those Cayennes are gas hogs

SurroundedBySe7ens 07-22-04 11:14 AM

Both rides are very nice. Couldn't spring for the Turbo model though?! lol just messin.....

XLR8 07-22-04 11:57 AM

Ya it should handle better then most SUV's considering it is a Porsche....Thats a funny "beater" joke too....I want your job:)

I like the R1 wings and a very few other select wings. I generally don't like body kits either unless they are wide and done in taste. The Rx7 has such beautiful natural lines. It is really hard to top the stock look.

nycrx7 07-22-04 01:12 PM

Manhattan? those pics sure as hell weren't taken in NYC.. unless you rolled into central park :) haha. I presume you keep your RX in the burbs? Would keep my rx with me in the city if it didn't cost 400 a month.

Jim Calandrella 07-22-04 01:25 PM

That's one mean looking 7.
Good job.
Killer daily driver too.

Hahaha, you guessed right, most of times I keep it up my uncles house/garage, well since I got the porsche, I bring her down on weekends though.
OMG, garage is killer here, you know it, yep 400, that's how much I pay exacly....
