Pics of my "ghetto taillight mod"/pics of '99spec taillights

and another:
http://www.shoeflydesigns.com/rx7/images/PB040089.JPG Would you believe I got into random streetraces w/a TT supra, worked (and fast) mid-90's Z28, and a TT 300zx w/my rear looking all jacked up like that. I beat 'em all, so they got to take an extended look at my patented "Ghetto Taillight Mod" :D |
Here's a peek at what she looks like now:
http://www.shoeflydesigns.com/rx7/satown/PB100003.JPG Ryan Wolfe did the work, looks awesome. His SN is Rx7even if you want to PM him. He charges 65 bucks, and it was definitely worth it :p |
Looks good!!!! I especially like the "ghetto"mod :D I did my own a few months ago and they look SOOOOOO much better. If anyone is thinking of doing this. DO IT NOW!!!!!!! you won't be disappointed.

Here's another plug for Ryan's work, he did mine a while back and I put them next to my friends car with the real J-Specs and we couldn't tell the difference. :bigthumb: to Ryan!

Looks good !!

Yup, that's way better than the stock lights.
I've done conversion for forum members as well. It's only $50 bc I just do it for the fun of it. I definitely recommend everyone to get their lights done. |
Rich,
Those ghetto lights had to make your car faster, after all they do reduce weight. Chuck |

Rich, Holy shit i laughed my ass off at this thread!!! i wonder what those people were saying after you beat them about the ghetto tail lights. Maybe they will ask you how they can install them on their cars. LOL!!!!!
|
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA, OMG that is the greatest thing I've ever seen! I probably wouldve just bought colored lights and duct taped them up in true ghetto style, but that's pure genius!!!!
|
double post :(
|
i also just did the 99 light conversion (this past weekend) i think i spent $31 for everything -
and DAMN it looks good! if i had a digital camera i'd post pics, but like everyone says, if you haven't done it, you should - took me 3 hours, start to finish (including waiting for paint to dry) |
nah...ghetto lights look much better than the 99s. they are lighter.
j/k...but its amazing how much the 99 lights change the look of the car! |
Here's another pic I forgot to attach:
http://www.shoeflydesigns.com/rx7/images/PB040090.JPG They didn't really work too well....you can see a lot of white lot around the edges. Forgot to mention, after driving home from Fort Worth (and racing that 300z TT where I got up to ~150) I got off the highway and was a mile from my house. Never content to leave well enough alone (and cranking Nickelback so the adrenaline was pumpin' :p), I revved her out in first gear under a bridge while changing lanes. And wouldn't you know? Got pulled over. Female cop, though...I used my many charms to weasel my way out of a ticket. She actually laughed at my Ghetto Taillight Mod. I told her it's kinda like the racing stripes on Neons and Type R stickers on Hyundais :D Rich |
