Do you mean you bought the car from Peter Farrell, or the mods are from Peter Farrell?
If its the former, I'm not touching the subject. If its the latter, yes, his stuff is pretty good. Dated designs, however. What do you have?

I'm going to grab a beer, sit back and...

How can you buy a car and ask questions about it's integrity after?
SHould you be asking before you buy it?
Anyways, I hope there is nothing wrong w/ your car.

rfreeman27 Oct 11, 2002 02:52 PM

The car is fine, and the mods are just a catback-exhaust and small intercooler. The parts were bought and installed by peter ferrell. It is not one of his cars. And dont worry, the car is almost mint =)

rxrotary2_7 Oct 11, 2002 02:53 PM

his product line has been proven to work over the years. also from what i know, no changes have been made to the line since.....

redbase Oct 11, 2002 02:57 PM

Personally, I think Peter Farrell is a good guy and his cars are bad a$$.

Is Dont be a Rikki on Vacation or something?? Comon Ryan, say something!!!

Ohseyun Oct 11, 2002 03:02 PM

forgot to add my opinion. I have a Peter Farell 3 piece. Wing. Its made out of fiber glass, and is the most baddest wing you can get for your FD!!

The cat-back is one of the best. The intercooler is better that Greddy and Blitz offerings, but prob. not quite as good as the M2 med. Iassume you have the intake that works with it?

Wouldn't it be smart to ask, before purchasing the vehicle?

RyanREX Oct 11, 2002 03:37 PM

The cat-back is high flowing and the lightest for the FD. I wouldn't recomend his ECU though. I have heard nightmares about it.

I'd love to get my hands on that wing as well.

Certainly nothing wrong with PFS products, pretty much all of which is nicely made. There are CBs that are lighter or better flowing then the PFS, though.

rfreeman27 Oct 11, 2002 07:12 PM

That wing is bad ass

rfreeman27 Oct 11, 2002 07:25 PM

And i had gotten an opinion on PFS before i bought the car. Dont worry, i've done my homework, buti wanted to see what your responce was before i got any replacemant parts. Thx for the help though.

GlassHouseRX7 Oct 11, 2002 07:46 PM

I don't trust anyone but my mechanic and my own to hands, even if I only have a civic and not an fd(yet). I have heard to many of these stories and have almostly completely lost faith

rfreeman27 Oct 11, 2002 08:13 PM

True that man

Peter Farrell Supercars Oct 11, 2002 08:40 PM

Thanks

Thanks for the comments about my products. My Catback exhaust has been very successful and in fact my lead tech Ray puts down 659 rwhp and runs 9.8 @ 143mph in the quater using it. Ray did a dyno pull with the cat back removed and saw no gain in power.

Regards,
Peter Farrell

To be frank prior to you know what I had only heard good things about PFS. I remember reading in either car and driver and road and track when fds came out, about the touring, r1, r2 and Peter's r3 i think. Or something of the sort.

Hope all goes well with your FD. Best of luck with your new car. And welcome to the board.

No matter what you have heard the cars Peter Farrell sells are good. He goes over the cars from front to back and makes sure they are right.

Where..? The PFS cat back is straight through and has excellent flow..It is VERY high quality stainless steel also...

no comments on pfs

rfreeman27: you should get some more mods since you already have an intercooler. Weird order to upgrade but whatever. Look into getting a downpipe next, then intake, and then a midpipe or high flow cat...no just get a midpipe! If you turn the boost up from stock you will need to upgrade the fuel pump for sure and maybe the injectors.
Before you do any of these mods though decide what the future of this car looks like and pick an ecu accordingly. You also need some gauges with the mods above to monitor everything. Boost, Water temp, air fuel, egt, oil pressure, are good ones to start with ;)
