Peter farell

hey guys i got a question, we all know the PFC comes pre dyno tunes to three settings 10psi, 12psi, and 14 psi. now my question is that is this settings for a stock FD or a modded one, i have 3inch exhaust, including 3inch midpipe, and pf stock mount intercooler, do you think i could blow my motor because of these mods..i wasn't sure if i could run a ic and midpipe with the PFC
Because it seems like my car is running a bit funny. once when i stepped on it around 5-6ooorpm it seemed my fuel is cuttiing off. please let me ...dont wanna blow up my motor:D :D

fd3s_rx7 03-26-04 01:04 AM

you definitly going to blow your motor with that midpipe on your car. I'm telling you kamaal, Swing that Peter Farell this way and buy yourself a Apexi Power FC. :D

Well anyways check this link out.

Yep......... I wish the stock market was as predictable as certain mods and FD blowing up.

PFC

i am not sure if mine is the latest PFC , the one i have is purple in color and came with the keypad and the little boost knob which says low, med, high...
also how the heck do you work that thing, its freaking confussing to me..it came with folder with directions but that this does not make any sense to me..if any body now how to tune that thing let me know

The PFS computer is called the PMC (a.k.a. EFI PMS). Are there any stickers on your PMC? The version might be on there. I think the last version I had on my purple box was Mar 99 -- the word "pink" was on the sticker (my box was pink on the inside, apparently :)). That might be the latest version.

The pink sticker relates to the state of tune of the program as the unit was sent out from PFS , not the color of the inside of the box . When you retune the program for a higher out put engine the color in the box is still pink . hahaha . The version may be on the screen when you first turn the key on . Check to see . My mechanic had a purple box updated but then changed to the PFC so he can not check on that for you .

Apexi Power FC...

The PMC's boost control is not sufficient for someone with a midpipe...get a manual boost controller or ditch the PMC man because you will blow your motor.

That is such a logical fallacy. Just because one guy blew his engine from poor tuning doesn't mean everybody will. I had a PFS on my car for over 2 years and I tuned it myself with full exhaust, intake, IC, etc. I'm boosting 12 and 14psi.

If he's not planing to go single why waste money on PFC. Not everybody has 1k to spend.

Just my .02 cents

iam actually looking to buy a PFS PMC so if anyone wants to ditch theirs ill buy it.

Ok, lets define some terms here.

PFC = Apexi Power Fuel Computer
PFS = Peter Farell Supercars
PMC = Peter's purple motor eater.

If you are looking for maps for a PFC, look here :

Actually, I would advise staying away from Peter all together. The last discusion I got into with him he insisted that C16 was the majic bullet for everyones reliability concerns and horsepower needs. :jerkit:

My only gripe with the PMC which I own is that the boost control isn't up to par...a boost controller + PMC is a good combo

C16 is. The question is if the person can afford it.
