Just thought I celebrate with you all my girl turning 40 today! Lookin' great for over the hill! No implants (original motor), just a few wrinkles (on the leather), and lots of fun still left in her!

I remember when my motor still "turned" and was still in the car....good times.

I have yet to reach the 40k milestone. There's a crease or two, but the leather still looks good and we're humming along on the original engine.

Who sez the good die young?

How do you think i felt when i hit the magic 70k, especially from all the rumors that our engines most likely give out at 70-80k. :( lol

That interior has to be emaculate.
My drivers seat looks like it got ran over by a tank:tank:

There's just something special, I think, about the FD guage cluster. I absolutely love the design. Anybody else feelin' me?

The leather in the FD is thin and cheap. You'd be impressed if you saw mine. But it wasn't easy. You have to keep it conditioned and keep it out of the sun as much as possible. On hot days, if it's parked outside for a long time, I put a black towel over the driver's seat. For most FD's, the leather seats look like crap, or they've been reupholstered or replaced with aftermarket seats.

On the other hand, I've seen base cloth seats that look as good as the day they left the factory.

^ for sure, and don't want to change it (steering column boost gauges ruin it)

Mines turned 90+ but has a heart transplant, 1 lung, both kidneys, and hip and knee replacement! Oh yea a full skin graft!

0110-M-P 12-13-07 08:32 AM

First FD I got the joy of seeing it turn 40 (a week after I bought it)...the first b-day I will see with the new one is 100k :(

amp 12-13-07 09:06 AM

whats the fascination with low mileage...
that just means in my book that she is bein neglected... she needs to be driven..

bryant 12-13-07 09:10 AM

i wouldnt say neglected but pampered like a supermodel.

White94RX 12-13-07 12:41 PM

so forget about low miles, how about high miles? 159k on mine, 90k on second engine, still original turbos, still boosting 10 psi, and only leaking a little.

bryant 12-13-07 12:54 PM

sound like a single in the near future.

and a race motor.hahaha

Andrew. 12-13-07 01:17 PM

Haha, I remember when mine turned 60k a couple months ago, I tried to snap a picture on the highway doing 70mph and kept getting blurry pictures
