Is it ok to push start my car to get it started if it's floode?
 

The shop that's fixing my fender flooded my car. They called and said they got it to start once but after that, they couldn't get the car to start again. First thing that popped into my my is that it's flooded. I've read so many procedures on how to unflood it and just wanted to know if I can just push start it and pop the clutch?

Yep..you sure can. Works every time ;) In fact, I do that when I simply don't feel like dealing w/ unflooding it. It'll smoke like crazy initially, but it'll clear up real quick. After getting the car fully warmed up, take 'er out for a spin, redline a few times, get that junk burned up, and you'll be good to go.

Oh and don't forget to address the problem that caused the flooding in the first place! ;)

i got a stupid question... how does the car get flooded? i mean i never had a car that was flooded so i wouldnt know

yep.

my halfbridge floods all the time, I get lazy and just pull it down the street, makes it much much easier to get started.

I've tried push starting but the wheels just locked up and slid to a halt on the wet pavement. I'm going to do the unflood procedure and see what happens.

If you have spare spark plugs, switch them in. If not, clean and dry the ones you take out before they go back in.

Oh and lemme add that it's prob. a worthwhile investment to get an A/C powered battery charger/starter and hook it up to your battery while doing this, because all this cranking can EASILY kill your battery. Trust me...I know ;)
