so, it looks like the only choice out there is to buy the FC one and tap it yourself...

unless that is, someone can point me towards the GReddy pedestal. if push comes to shove, i'm going to be getting lots of goodies installed in a few weeks, i'll just ask the good folks at PFS (assuming they'll do it for me) where they suggest mounting the oil temp sensor and have them do the grunt work for me as i don't have the time or skill right now (i know, you have to learn buy doing, but well, i seriously don't have the time to learn right now, 6 more months).

Nothing other than it makes chaning the oil a bitch and doesn't allow the use of a larger filter. ;)

Racing Beat also makes an adapter. I got one a couple months back and finally got around to installing it. It's designed for an rx8 but fits the FD fine.

ps. make sure you tighten the senders really tight!

Sorry this is a bit offtopic... but in that link Racing Beat says that the stock oil press. gauge in the RX8 never moves because there isn't even an oil press sensor on the engine??

WTF was Mazda thinking!?

The same thing they were thinking when they made the idiot light water temp gauge in the FD LOL.

I was looking at this adaptor for my FD, but maybe i'll get one for the wife's RX8 too after reading about the dummy gauge
