teamstealth 02-18-04 05:52 PM

Exactly.. Don't you have something else better to do than troll on the forums? Like work on your car??

No, not really, but I'll be sure to keep an eye out for your posts in the future so I can give you some special attention too.

I like the black muffler and downward pointed tip.

I sandblasted my stainless turbo backplate/WG elbow and I LOVE the patina the sandblasted stainless gets once heated- Dark asphalt grey.

I have been thinking about taking off my 3.5" SS turbo back off to blast it and heat it uniformly in the curing oven. The shiny 4" tip is too flashy.

But then, some people like color change purple cars and crome look rims. I actaully appreciate the whole spectrum of style, but I wanna be the one driving the "plain" looking car- less attention getting...

maxcooper 02-19-04 03:07 AM

Two smoot jokes in one week! I posted one a few days ago. :)

I think it looks fine. I like low-key stuff like that -- it is certainly more applealing to me than a 5" tip sticking out the back (and yes, I once had one of those). Lay off him, Jim, geez!

-Max

EDIT: I sure hope I spelled "geez" right or I'm sure I am about to be ripped a new one. :)

And that's your opinion.

In my opinion, based on it's performance, the RX7 should come with a fire extinguisher, an auxiliary coolant tank, spare plugs, and a rebuild kit.

No intimidation factor? Take it to a mechanic... Intimidation is them saying, "Yeah right.. I'm not working on that fucking thing...".

I'm willing to bet the muffler doesn't squeek, squeel and make you remove them every 3000 miles to grease them so they dont make noise, like some bushings I know of :)

I'm willing to bet that if people followed the directions and installed the recommended grease fittings, they wouldn't have to remove the bushings to grease them.

Of course, the type of person who thinks a strut tower bar vastly increased the handling of their car (then again, don't you have about a billion miles on your shit box FD?) would probably be incapable of reading the installation instructions.

If you want to go a few more rounds, I'm more than willing. You're about as dangerous as a 4 year old when it comes to verbal sparring...

Want2race 02-20-04 02:09 PM

I think thats the best looking muffler for the FD. I would have bought something like that if i still owned one

rex u.k 02-20-04 05:34 PM

Hat off to you for the custom work, but them downward tips always look like they could do with a dose of viagra.

Bluem 02-23-04 03:09 PM

Holy crap that looks awsome !!!!!

how does it sound ,is it loud, does it sound buzzy?

BoostCrzy 02-24-04 07:07 AM

its no louder than most of the cat-backs on the market...but has a different tone than most.....i think the tip pointing downward causes a resonance thats slightly different than normal....you would have to hear it to understand.....but i have seen video of flames shooting from it in full swing....WOW...they hit the ground like a torch!!...im extremely pleased with the results....and cant count how many times people have asked me "where did you get that exhaust?!!"...i have yet to see another car with a setup like mine...so im wondering how long it will be till they start showing up.....

PVerdieck 02-24-04 08:51 AM

How about giving us a good comparison shot?

Both of the Dophin photos show a nice low point of view from the ground. Your photos just show us an angle from above. We can't see much.

Did you take a shot of the entire system? All we have seen so far is a portion of the back of the muffler and most of the tip.

Unless, you wish to spare giving JimLab more material to comment on :D

Bluem 02-24-04 09:24 AM

dude congrats on the fab work, this is the coolest exhaust iv ever seen on a 7. I absolutley love the way it looks, it doesnt look like a cannon sticking out of the back and best of all it doesnt say : im a ricer look at my pipe its loud and abnoxious hehe i think im def!!!

not to be an ass ,but can u post the specs ,materials, and how you fabricated?

and more pics ans, a video or sound clip?

BoostCrzy 02-24-04 11:18 AM
