new BNR upgrade PICS!!!

Hey guys, just thought I'd share some pics I took. Bryan came by the house a while ago with a set of upgrades for me to check out. I thought I'd snap a few pics to share with you guys

SpoolinRX 01-27-04 11:10 PM

How much HP increase they sposed to make?

SPOautos 01-27-04 11:12 PM

pic of secondary....

cpa7man 01-27-04 11:15 PM

Very nice, will be my first choice when mine fail.

SPOautos 01-27-04 11:17 PM

I dont know how to make them show up as pics so maybe someone can do that for me or tell me how to do it.

Like mentioned on the other thread, the internals of these turbos are entirely brand new, there's not one part inside that's OEM, its all high quality aftermarket parts. The only thing stock about them is the housings and really, they arent stock either cause he spend forever cutting away at them and making adapters so that the new parts would adapt into the oem housings.

As for the HP, well I'm not sure about that yet. He's going to be testing them to thier limits on a dyno the first weekend of March.

Anyway, hope you guys like the pics, I just wated to share

Yup, they are going out in the mail in the morning. He stopped by my place to show them to me before they are mailed off.

I think your customer will be VERY happy, man they look awsome.

Are these the newly upgraded stage 3's or what?

Flybye 01-28-04 04:57 AM

I can't believe you are taking a picture of the turbos on top of wood shavings ;)

I noticed something interesting on the Extrudehone site....
They said they also do turbo impellers. They didn't mention it but I'm sure they would also do the housings. I wonder exactly how much of a differance would it make

RX7SpiritR 01-28-04 07:05 AM

They look good but what stage are they? The new non-smoking 3's?

Scrub 01-28-04 07:43 AM

The wheels don't look like the ones on my stage 3's. Mine don't smoke BTW

Saner 01-28-04 08:17 AM

SPOautos, what turbos are these?

villision 01-28-04 08:42 AM

That is Sick...Hope it works out for you...good luck!

Hmm, ok maybe most of you guys havent seen the other thread. Bryan has redone his turbo lineup and all the new ones are due out in a month or two. Basically he's going to be selling 2 different sets of twins. He's going to have a set that has ALL new internals, everything in it is high quality aftermarket parts and its all 100% brand new so its not really like a rebuild. The only parts that are reused are the housing and they are so modified that they really arent "stock" either haha. THEN, he's going to have a upgrade version of that same turbo. Its exactly like the turbo I just explained except it has a larger compressor and turbine wheel.

Thats going to be his turbo lineup in about 2 months. They are in the build and test process now and I'm going to be maxing out a set on the dyno in about a month.

BTW - The pics are the upgrades with the larger compressor wheel. Its really hard to tell how much larger that wheel is versus the oem without seeing them side by side but trust me....they are larger lol

Are these a sequential set? Still has flapper actuators. Has he done anything to the manifold as well?

What are his target prices for the two products?

SPOautos 01-28-04 10:17 AM

Yes, that set is sequential. I dont think final pricing has be totally set yet however I do know they will be a little more expensive than the old stage 3's BUT with 100% totally new internals its well worth it.

STEPHEN

Jason 01-28-04 12:18 PM

From what Brian said they are $2250. I dont know if he has changed that.

Jason

MazdaRx7Racer4Life 01-28-04 12:40 PM

I sounds like a decent price, if they are even better than the old stage 3's, ill probably be traveling down that road when I blow mine.

RotorMotor 01-28-04 02:31 PM

ok what about spool up compared to the OEM's or the stage 3's? if they can make more PSI/Flow than the 3's ill be seriously considering it. how about the exhaust manifold? anything done to it to increase flow/decrease turbulance such as smoothing out the casting or stuff like that.

oh yeah, and how does spoolup as well as boost charachteristics compare to a Ball Bearing single? its probably too early to give good answers but does anyone have an idea?
