Need help. Second turbo problems.

Ok ppl, tonight like i was cruising and the car worked fine, i see a stock Supra trying to race me. I step on the petal and the car did not pull hard like the previous times. The supra passed me like i was stopped. Then i realize that the second turbo did not come on. I try it again and the same thing happens. Tomorrow i'll give it a checkout. My thoughts are either the solenoid valve broke and the wastegate stuck open, or a vacum hose came off. Any ideas which vacum hoses could cause that? Or any other places i should check out?

Btw the car has PFC installed. That's why it did not stumble like the stock ecu would do if a solenoid valve is broken.

Thanks in advance.

Anthony

What was your RPM right before you "stepped on the pedal" ?

racer1 07-15-05 10:22 PM

It was like 3k but i tried it many times in different rpm's and it will not come on.

Did you try doing the "Official Mazda Boost Test" ?

Also, get a boost gauge if you don't have one. Invaluable piece of equipment

I do have a boost gauge and a boost controller as well....stll the second turbo will not come on. I know what the problem is i just need a little feedback as to what could cause that. And where shall i start looking at.

My fix for that was a popped off line to the check valve that feeds the pressure tank (the black plastic tank behind the alternator). Ultra easy fix so hopefully that's all it is.

Trevor thanks for sharing that. I really hope it's just this. It will be the first thing i'll be checking out and will let you know. Thanks again.

Yes, check the line Trevor mentioned...this happened to me and it was discovered that the check valve in that line had split in half...

Well, thanks for your input guys. You've been really helpfull and saved me lots of time. Indeed that line trevor mentioned came off.

Thanks guys. I really appreciate your help.
