Rx-7$4$me 07-09-03 08:27 PM

oh and the spoiler Id go would be the 99 spec spoiler, could anyone try to photoshop a black one on my car?

lerch32 07-09-03 08:28 PM

Nice looking car. I personaly love FD's with out spoilers. Just my $.02.

apneablue 07-09-03 08:31 PM

Definately one of the cleanest Black on Blacks I have seen...Question, are those Feed door handles stick on thingy or are they a replacement for the door handles?

-blue

Rx-7$4$me 07-09-03 08:32 PM

They are the entire handle. Not a stick on. It even comes with the little plastic clips that hold the handle lever rods in.

Rx-7$4$me 07-09-03 08:32 PM

The CF of the door handles didnt come out in the pics, but they are cf

sporff 07-09-03 08:39 PM

looks very nice. as for spoiler it's up to you. for the love of GOD keep it stock or at least small. i'm not a fan of the 99 ones but they're not bad. i still think the stock spoiler we got is the best looking

r0gu3 07-09-03 08:55 PM

Ask Tony for pics of his car if you want to see your car with a '99 spoiler.

kyle@insight 07-09-03 09:03 PM

Looks really good. 99 spoiler would look really nice on there.

EviLPeNeviL 07-09-03 09:11 PM

Nice looking FD, I'd leave it spoilerless ;)

So then I noticed that your engine bay pic didn't have the torque brace, but listed in your mods. And also there is an aftermarket AST, which isn't listed in the mods....... Could that engine bay be a FAKE!! hehe jk jk.... Great looking car man.

911GT2 07-09-03 09:22 PM

I think it's abso-fucking-lutely gorgeous! I really like the way the white side marker lights look on black cars.

I noticed the lack of torque brace too, what gives? Was that pic taken before the mod? Or are you lying to us....

Rx-7$4$me 07-09-03 09:24 PM

Lol, ask jason, I was expecting the torque brace about 4 weeks ago, but jason still doesnt have them due to idiots messing up the shipping to him. SO NO its not in there, YET!

Shinobi-X 07-09-03 09:39 PM

Steve, your car looks sexier than ever. I would like some more pics from the back as well. As for the spoiler, I would go with the 99spec, or the stock 93+ R1 spoiler. Either way, you cannot go wrong.

Beautiful car, and I can't wait to see it up close.;)

negative 07-09-03 09:53 PM

Your FD looks fine the way it is. If you're planning on getting a '99spec spoiler you must buy the '99 front end as well. That spoiler wouldn't look right on your ride. By the way, beautiful FD.

Shinobi-X 07-09-03 11:24 PM

Here is a quick edit of the 99spec spoiler on the car. I think it looks great.

dubcaps 07-09-03 11:56 PM

If cash isnt an issue get a feed (replica) wing from rotary extreme. (do they still have them????) Looks VERY clean, not many have them, and fits the lines of the car. A lot of people love their wingless FD's so if i were you id go feed if possible. Plus isnt the center section CF? would compliment the door handles nicely. Just my .02

RX-8 07-10-03 12:23 AM

leave it spoilerless IF you don't plan on putting a body kit on the car. if you want to keep the stock look then 93 R1 spoiler or nothing. i don't like the 99 spoiler on 93-95 models, looks out of place IMO

WVRx7 07-10-03 01:23 AM

I think it looks great like it is. Well, except for those hideous clear side marker things. I can't believe people pay money for those things.

Rx-7$4$me 07-10-03 01:49 AM

some people dont like em....

some people do.

DSMguywantsFD 07-10-03 02:13 AM

that is one clean fd. i like it without the spoiler, but the 99 spec didnt look bad. is that the original paint? i can see your reflection in one of the pictures, damn thats nice.

|aFk| LiMiTz 07-10-03 02:25 AM

question....arent the feed door handles like 400 bucks? and nice arm rest.. I see uve got the leather comfy ones eh?

Rx-7$4$me 07-10-03 02:27 AM

Yeah thats the original paint and yes the feed handles are expensive, but with what I was looking at for new handles it wasnt that much more expensive.

Rx-7$4$me 07-10-03 02:32 AM

The arm rest was a must do, my arms with their length would always hit the stock ash tray in a horrid position that would bother me constantly. Now I hace a nice coushion :)

FDeez 07-10-03 03:16 AM

Nice! I like! Suggestion for next mod... rims please!!!!!!

dhahlen 07-10-03 03:27 AM

Looks nice... Love the black... anyone know people that do good paint work for decent price in the San Diego area? lol ;p

Rx-7$4$me 07-10-03 01:32 PM

Hehe in time... in time.

Shinobi-X 07-10-03 01:34 PM

I noticed you finished up your polishing job too Steve- nice. What did you think of the 99spec edit?

diablone 07-10-03 01:40 PM

Nice and clean. I agree with some of the past comments, keep it clear of a spoiler.

Rx-7$4$me 07-10-03 01:42 PM

the 99 spec looks good... but I dunno.. and my polishing is decent for a first timer, but I needs the extra pizass :)

Elegant Black Monster 07-10-03 02:06 PM

You know... all you need is one thing. An Aftermarket IC, any will do and the engine bay will be sweet and complete. As for the rest of the car, I love it. Yeah the 99spec would look nice but without a wing it looks good too. Whats the cushiony armrest? Is that an OEM/aftermarket/ or custom job. I have the same problem with my ashtray...

My rating = 9/10.

Rx-7$4$me 07-10-03 02:14 PM

ITs just the JDM armrest. I bout it from ARI on ebay.

RX-187 07-10-03 02:30 PM

That's one clean FD you have there. I like the clear side markers on it, I think it goes very well with the car. About the '99 spec wing, IMO it looks very good especially on a black FD.

SilverRX7 07-10-03 04:13 PM

Add spoiler, Add new rims. Otherwise a sweet ride.

Rx-7$4$me 07-10-03 06:56 PM

well, my parents were nice enough to actually purchase it for me and have me pay them back instead of me paying a bank back incase I slipped or somthing I wouldnt get my car reposessed. So Im paying my parents back. Right now im working at a valet service, at a few points I was working two jobs to pay for the car and mods and start my new engine fund which anyone can donate too! :)

Steve

Shinobi-X 07-10-03 11:11 PM

Here is the stock 93-95 R1 spoiler edited from my car on it. I couldn't match your color/shade perfectly, but you get the idea...

https://www.rx7club.com/forum/attach...postid=1951338

I really think you should go for either spoiler, as it will match the front spoiler.

TpCpLaYa 07-11-03 12:29 AM

hey, where exactly are you located, Nearby Suburb? I remember back in the day when you were looking for you car and damn that thing has turned out nice. Very very nice. I like the clear markers and they are original in my eyes. Match the front signals and even the badge. For spoiler id say either 99 spec or leave it wingless. In the end it IS up to you so have fun deciding....lol. But again nice ride.

Turbo_F1 07-11-03 01:37 AM

Hey hows the exhuast, you ever make a sound clip of it yet? if so could you please post it.

Rx-7$4$me 07-11-03 01:41 AM

Haha , I remember you were one of the first persons to greet me, and give me some pointers on buying the car... oh that was a while ago :)

I live in Glenview, north of chicago a bit by skokie, northbrook, niles, golf, by old orchard and northbrook court mall. You know where Im talking about? Im probably gonna go 99 spec, but It probably wont be for a while . Im not exactly made of money... ever :)

I have yet to make a sound clip. But I'll get on that asap

Rx-7$4$me 07-11-03 01:42 AM

Thanks for the chops kayin. ITs always nice to know I can depend on you for a favor lol.

EviLPeNeviL 07-11-03 01:48 AM

Nice car man, I'd leave it the sleek way it is right now and don't change a damn thing...... unless it's suspension or rims............................................. yeah that's a pretty nice car indeed........... too good for any spoilers tho.... but yeah great car man.......

Vintage Red Touring 07-11-03 10:17 AM

your car looks great, and is definitely one of the cleanest black FD's I've ever seen!

I had the same problem, as my car did not come with a rear spoiler. I loved the way it looked, until I lowered the car and changed the wheels. I added a 93 R1 spoiler, and it really helped.

Good luck, and congrats on a beautiful ride

rupertaker 07-11-03 12:09 PM

Great looking car.

Is that the original paint?

Cihuuy 07-11-03 01:32 PM

i say go for it... :) or since you have the feed door handle, then get the feed spoiler!! ;)

Rx-7$4$me 07-11-03 01:46 PM

change the suspension? how so? Ive already lowered it an inch and a half all around.

Is that the original paint?
yup

rx7racer11 07-11-03 02:03 PM

get the feed spoiler or even a stock r1 spoiler imo i think those 2 are better looking then 99 spec my .02

TpCpLaYa 07-11-03 02:06 PM

i think he means just upgrade the suspension over what you got.

Also yea i know pretty much where your located. Im over in Mt.Prospect/Arlington Heights/Rolling Meadows, that area. lol big area i know but im all over there. 99 spec would look good with your car. Might i suggest something liek the CF one. Forgot whos making them or if they are replicas or what and if there cheaper or not.(long sentence) But i think that it would look verry good with your car, on the same line as the Feed one. But it all depends on the $$$

chaste94 07-11-03 03:43 PM

Your car looks great! I love the black ones when they're well cared for and the paint is shiny. I think a wing would look really nice. I know a lot of people prefer the way it looks without a wing, but I think the car looks naked without one.

SPLzero 07-11-03 05:01 PM

haha pinpoint where you live there killer :p: stock FD rims arnt that bad you can fit 255's on them safe. car looks clean hope to see it out this weekend.

jons3rdgen 07-11-03 06:50 PM

I think you should put a spoiler on it. I like the side markers. I wanted to see what they would look like on a black car and I think there will be another black seven with clear markers on it.

Rx-7$4$me 07-12-03 01:32 AM

I think im gonna go with the stock r-1 spoiler from jt-imports
