Motul brake fluid bad for lines????
A buddy of mine mentioned that he heard that MOTUL synthetic or for that matter any synthetic was bad for the FD brake lines...is this true!!!
Sh*t as you can see from my other post I'm screwed if it is b/c I already changed it out in my FD!! HELP |
Where is your friend getting his information from??? Motul is one of the most respected and widely recognized names in motorsports. Don't get me wrong, but I want to see proof regarding his claim. "Synthetics" are not bad for your brake lines. Changing to a different type of brake fluid (from DOT 3/4 to DOT 5) can affect your braking, but they should never be bad for your brake lines. Check out Motul's website: www.motul.com |
I haven't heard of such things. Just make sure that you flush the break lines with alcohol so you don't mix the old fluid with the new.

up from the dead... :)
So flush with alcohol? Never heard that one before? |

Motul is great. I've used it for years. One of my basic rules of life is not to listen to idiot friends with unfounded opinions.
|
it depends on which DOT motul.....

My guess is that the source of this 5-year-old rumor was based on silicone (DOT 5) brake fluid.
