modifications advice

I'm sure you're all sick of answering this question, so I"ll keep it simple. Anybody have any experience with the "stock air box mod" explained at www.robrobinette.com? I've been trying to figure out the best cold air intake, but everything commercially available seems overpriced and according to some web pages ineffective at actually delivering cold air. The stock air box mod seems to make sense...

Also, any experience with the pettit racing "TKT COLUMN BOOST GAUGE KIT" or the AutoMeter gauge that comes with it?

I'm trying to keep these first mods simple and cheap, but don't want to end up with crap...

I have the autometer boost gauge and it works really well. I like it. The air intake, I have never done that mod, just went with the apexi intake but I hear good results about it.

Use the stock air box but make the lower part out of sheet metal (1part -rectangle) instead of round tubes squeezed together, this will give you better flow more air , make a pattern out of card board first . Cheap and easy
