From Modded to Stock
I plan on taking the car back to mostly stock then selling it.
I have a massive SMIC with Tial BOV supra tt fuel pump intakes dp, high flow cat with the tube part welded(I think thats for the air pump), catback Airpump is disabled, stock injectors, stock twins, stock motor(no port) power fc, Koyo Radiator, Greddy Elbow. I plan on replacing all of these items with the stock parts, and putting the stock BOV back on, it is blocked off where the stock one used to be. Im forseeing potential problems with putting the stock cat back on, since I dont have the tube that goes from the airpump to the cat anymore. Can I just leave the airpump unplugged and block off the tube on the stock cat? I read something about when putting the stock ECU back, theres some wires I have to mess with? (https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generati...cu-pfc-901500/) Any other info would be good, the car is currently tuned to 290 whp And no, I dont want to sell it modded. |
Bit of work ahead of you there, but (no offense intended here) with that list of modifications, going back to stock would be better for reliability and for the longevity of the stock engine.
Plus, stock is a nice neat package and rarely gives much trouble. Resale values stock VS modified is debatable, but I'd pay more for an unmodified clean car than someone else's vision/nightmare, depending on what some people's ideas of "mods" are like.... |
Why have you decided to sell?
|
Can't you just sell it without an airpump? I bought mine without an airpump, and the port on the stock cat has a block off plate.

Not sure why you think its more reliable though All the mods I have are reliability mods except maybe the fuel pump, and disabled airpump |
I'm not sure of the details, but in general I think you want to have a functioning air pump with the cat, so you can burn off the stuff getting to the cat, rather than having stuff collect in the cat and plug it up.
Good luck with the sale. |

I have a massive SMIC with Tial BOV - Why do you need a 'massive' SMIC with stock twins and stock engine?? That will increase lag by some amount.
supra tt fuel pump - Fine if you intended to run more than stock boost, but you have stock turbos and engine only? intakes - Please tell me they are not just 'pod/cone' exposed filters, hanging in the engine bay, sucking in hot ambient engine bay air? :) dp, high flow cat with the tube part welded(I think thats for the air pump), catback Airpump is disabled, -But still on there? Its dead weight if it isnt performing any good function. stock injectors -Fine for stock boost but no more. stock twins -Fine for stock boost but no more. stock motor(no port) -Rebuilt? power fc -Ok. Koyo Radiator -Good for reliability. Greddy Elbow -Ok but probably not needed on a stock engine at stock boost. Looks nice though. Reliability mods are more in the way of temp gauge, boost gauge, good radiator, decent spark plugs and leads, alloy/new coolant expansion tank. Nothing too wild. Car still would appear relatively stock apart from alloy AST and alloy radiator, and two extra gauges. |

I'm not asking for opinions on my current mods I'm asking if anyone thinks there will be issues with taking it to completely stock, and I listed the current mods that are on it now |
I dont think its worth your time or money to put it back to stock...its basically stock now.
is it a bobo ebay stock mount or a nice M2 unit? if bobo just leave it on there and sell it as is. the only thing worth any money is the power fc and people will pay an additional $500 for a car with one on there. just my opinion. not like it matters :) |

I already went through the hassle of purchasing stock parts, and I'm willing to wait a few months to sell all the aftermarket stuff. |
And idk how it's considered stock, every bolt on possible is done to the car.

supra tt fuel pump - maybe $50 over the cost of a stock pump intakes - a wash after you buy all of the stock hoses and intake box dp, high flow cat with the tube part welded(I think thats for the air pump), catback - stock cat will cost you more than all 3 of these combined. Airpump is disabled stock injectors, stock twins, stock motor(no port) power fc - 700 with commander -50 for stock ecu. if you run the stock ecu you need to throw the stock cat and catback on Koyo Radiator Greddy Elbow - 100 but you have to purchase the stock elbow and intercooler with both ducts |
