I have a MP. It seems to smell a little more and carbon up my bumper but it sounds great.

I just want to see some flames shoot out.

M2 3" DP, Mindtrain 3" MP, Racing Beat duel tip 3" CB

I just got it to run strong up to 8k on friday. Haven't had it out much. Plus no one has been behind me to watch. I was reading something about setting the fuel decel cut to 8000rpms and you can shoot flames easier?

im running a pettit DP and MP with an Apexi GT spec exhaust. love the horsepower and sound but im having trouble controlling my boost spikes with my preofec-b and apexi pfc. i'd recommend the mp if youve got the time and energy to play around with tuning and stuff but if you dont then go with a hi flow cat or resonated. the mp gives quite a bit more power though, i luv it :D

I thought you didnt lose any power with a resonated midpipe? I thought it just keeps the sound down a little bit, could someone tell me the HP difference between a SS 3 inch MP an a Resonated MP.

1bad7 01-28-02 05:32 PM

if you were running 13lbs with a resonated midpipe and getting 300rwhp then you would prolly see 8-10hp more up in the high rpm range with a MP. its not a huge difference but the more power your making the more you will make or have the ability to make with a MP. shootin flames is a plus too

JoeD 01-28-02 07:09 PM

i dont think resonated midpipes make that much less power than regular ones. from what i have heard, power difference between resonated vs. non resonated is at most 2 or 3 hp up top.

i second that.....even some HF cats challenge the power output of a midpipe. just cause you shoot flames doesnt mean youre fast....no ones gonna see the flames after they pull you

JoeD 01-28-02 09:15 PM

blowin flames is cool, but if you are known for eccessive flaming, your not going your full potential. flamage means you are running rich. so you have the option of making your car faster and shooting less/smaller flames by tuning out some fuel.

m0t03 01-28-02 09:43 PM

so a resonated P wont shoot flames just a regular SS MP will?

no one said that. you can still shoot flames with a resonated MP.

Ryan's a bit of a show

Once again Ryan you have proved your worth. You and I both know that your car is money so wether you keep the mid pipe.Or you drop the cash on the hi-flo cat.You are still going to ball the Rikki's in THE DORF!
So just be happy you got that engine installed w/ no major problems. But since you are asking.. YOUR CAR IS ENTIRELY TO LOAD GO HIGH FLO !
Later Donkey.:D

If Ryan had a dollar for every old lady in a mustang he raced he would be rich!
