I haven't seen a 93 Touring with a metal roof, all of them have been glass.

My 93 Touring has a metal sunroof. Has since day one.

I was joking about the 173, lol. But stacy, it would cost a fortune to put the factory moonroof in the rx7. You can only go aftermarket with one of those cheap roofs. lt will ruin the beautiful roof. If would NOT put one in if it doesn't have it.

since you already have a sunroof (assuming oem) you just have to find a Glass Panel for it - Either from a MAZDA dealer (expen$ive) or a junkyard. they both use the SAME rails and Mechansim, the Glass & Metal pannels ARE interchaingable.

keep in mind while that is true, the seal that goes around the metal/glass are different. In the glass one the seal extends over the glass, while the metal seal is just on the side all the way around.

I was quoted about 145.00 for the seal from the mazda dealer.

Which just makes buying from a Dealer even more expensive
a used panelw/seal from wrecker wil probably cost less than the seal alone from the Dealer.

I was quoted 125 for the metal panel and seal from mazdarecycling about 6 months ago, FYI

I did think that was kindof cheap for a whole moonroof assymbly. I figured it would cost an arm and a leg to put one in. I don't think I'll go aftermarket, I can live without it. Oh, and my name isn't stacy, It's Jack. Have you ever heard of ecstacy, I figured it went well with RX-7 so what the hell. LoL

I need headroom in the cabin. My now crashed 93 with standard roof was fine. How much headroom is lost by the moonroof, and how much lost by the sunroof?

ZeroBanger 01-20-03 09:39 PM

Um, none?

Air-Rex 01-21-03 12:37 AM

That Stacy shit is to funny. Glad you did'nt use Jack in the name.
