mbc vs electric boost controller

hey forum members i was just wondering what is the difference between a manual boost controller vs a electric boost controller. and yes did search but it seems like noone has written a thread on this. i know that for a mbc you would have to go pop the hood everytime you want to change boost and ebc you would just push a button. i will be nonsequential so im pretty sure it'll work. but when adjusting the boost on a mbc how do you know how much your going to boost. is it just hit or miss? please guys let me know what you know about boost controllers.

Yep, with a manual boost controller, it's make a run, see if boost is too high or low, pull over, pop hood, turn knob to raise or lower boost, and repeat until you get what you want.

You can get electronic boost controllers used for not a lot more than a good quality manual boost controller. I much prefer an electronic one - setup is easier, and you usually have 2 settings you can switch between and you can also turn it off. It's handy to switch it off while driving in the rain or something - with a manual boost controller you'd have to crank the knob all the way down then remember how many turns you cranked it to get your settings back.

They do have manual boost controllers with in-cabin controls and switchable presets, but at that point you're in the electronic boost control price range.
