Mazdatrix short shifter

Thinking of getting this shifter. Just wondering how much does it shorten the trow, And if it's a good shifter?

I've heard good things about the Mazdatrix shifter, but have never actually seen one. I heard that it was the shortest throw of any of the short shifters. I may be wrong, but I know I heard that once or twice.

It works great, and literally took less than 10 minutes to install.

The fastest installation of a mod that I have done

It is a very short throw. The distance from 1st to 2nd is about that of 1st to neutral (on the stock shifter).

There is no rattling (although some cars experience this), and it works flawlessly.

I regret not putting it in sooner. People can't believe how short the throws are. There is a very positive feel to the shifter, and it makes the car a pleasure to drive. The throws are also very smooth.

I highly recommend the short throw shifter from Mazdatrix. Plus the price is also great.

Several years since the install and still going strong. Just be sure to use thread locker on
the three cap screws.

Regards,
Crispy

FYI, I used one for about 500 miles, which included one track weekend. It takes quite a bit more effort to shift than the OE unit, so went back to my shortened OE unit. A friend just gave me his Mazdaspeed short-shifter, which seems to have a little longer throw than the Mazdatrix unit, but does not take as much effort. The Mazdatrix unit would be great for street driving, and maybe wouldn't bother someone else on the track, but was too much for me. (BTW, my Mazdatrix unit is for sale, $150 OBO incl shipping.)
