Knock Sensor?
I've never knowingly experinced a problem with a knock sensor, but in theory if one 'went bad' and therefore constantly told the ECU that knock was occuring, wouldn't the ECU react by reducing advance, richen the mixture, and who knows what else? Sounds like this would all affect/reduce power.
FWM describes a simple test of the knock sensor, have you tried that yet?

NO, but I heard that the knock sensor would cause the car to go into limp mode. So I took the knock sensor out tonight and the car still runs the same. My boost pattern is 12-11-14, this is on brand new 99 efini turbos, new pineapple stage 3 motor, new ngk plugs, magnecore 10mm wires, m2 ecu, m2 downpipe, new oil injectors and lines, flowed-balanced-and matched injectors, cosmo fuel pump, RPS clutch, ACT 9.5 lb flywheel, greddy exhaust, greddy turbo timer, greddy bov, dual K&N filters, etc..... The spike is fine because I know i can fix that with porting, I am just frustrated after spending all this time and money and I cant seem to locate my prob. I have checked the starter, igniter, coils, plugs, wires, crank sensors and everything related to ignition. Please offer any suggestions....
I just came back from Rick's Rotary today. We were discussing some preventative/proactive things I could do to the car. He mentioned that a few years ago, people were very interested in the old model J&S knock sensor. Even though he's seen a decline in it's popularity over the past couple years he highly recommened the new one:

This sensor is more advanced and can more "intelligently" manage knock.
Rick's main point to all this is that the factory sensor only will pull timing +-5 degrees. That doesn't sound like enough to put your car in "limp mode" (then again, what the hell do I know). If you've removed the sensor and the symptom persists then I would agree that it might not be the culprit, no?
