KG secondary rail and ID2000s

How do I properly mount the rail with these injectors? Do I keep the diffusors in, or do I take them out and use the rubber grommets that are included with the injectors? When I tried to install them yesterday it seemed like it sat too high with the grommet and the same when I tried using the diffusor. Any help would be appreciated.

Take the diffusers out. You need the proper machined aluminum spacers for id injectors.

Here's how I mounted mine, without the stock diffuser. I removed the purple spacers, installed the CJ fuel injector spacer and made custom sized spacers. I think I used 25mm spacers and sanded them down to 24 or 23mm.

I'm running a stock primary rail also...obviously

Thanks for the suggestions and pics, I'm running stock primary rail also. Where do I purchase the aluminum spacers from?

I have to bump this up because I'm still having trouble. Do I use the purple top that comes on the ID2000s or do I take that off (edit, just realized you took off the purple spacers), then make a custom spacer? Also where do I purchase these spacers or whatever is needed to make everything fit properly? I thought this would be more of a plug and play ordeal as far as installation goes, but I'm some trouble with this because it doesn't seem to fit right.

i am curious about the 550s/2000 setup, does it cause any trouble when the secondaries kick in? i kind of plan on going this route.

Sorry never saw you responded to this.

Yes, I removed the purple spacers and bought aluminum spacers to replace the standard ones that came with my KG rail. I can't remember where I got them from but they were 8mm (or standard equivalent) ID by 25mm in length. As stated above I had to sand them down slightly to seat properly.

KG parts had a few different mounts though, so yours may be slightly different than mine (see pic below). If that's the case you can easily make a new lower mount with a piece of metal bar stock from home depot.

I ran this setup for almost a full year with stock sequential. There is no problem with primary to secondary transition. There is some fine tuning that can be done, but for the most part, I noticed no issue. As long as you use the proper lag settings (given on ID's website) and update the proper injector sizes.

Ok, after searching a little deeper on rx7store I found LIM Injector Spacers, I'm assuming these might work, but I'll contact them in the morning just to make sure.

Yes those spacers will work.

Wanted to clarify that I meant primary to secondary injector transition. Not turbo.

ID725 primaries and ID2000 secondaries here or "very similar" Bosch EV14s to be exact. I removed all diffusers because they are fragile and just another point of failure. Also new injectors have better atomisation.

My old ones looked ok but as soon as I tried to remove them they broke like biscuits.

As for rails and adapters if you don't already have these parts I'd recommend CJ-Motorsports rails and injector adapters/spacers.

Thanks for the help everyone. Injector spacers are purchased, so now I'm just waiting for them to come in to get installed. Then I'll finally be ready to get tuned for my 6766 dbb setup :)

Scrub,

Why the Xcessive LIM, but only using 2x injectors?

GoodfellaFD3S 10-01-12 07:30 PM

^The GZ LIM offers other advanges aside from just extra injectors, but I'm sure you know that ;)

For his power goals 550 and 2000 are more than enough...... I've been running the same LIM for like 6 years now with the 'standard' four injector setup.

dabigesii 10-04-12 09:19 PM

Just updating, put the spacers on and everything fit...I just needed to put a washer under the actual fuel rail bracket so it wouldn't bottom out my bolts in the LIM. No leaks, car runs beautifully...now all I need to do is rewire fuel pump and install my 340lph stealth pump and schedule my tuning appointment :). Thanks for the help everyone.
