mods?

diablone 08-28-02 02:16 PM

Nothing great to talk about without a mod list. :)

Vintage Red Touring 08-28-02 02:33 PM

nice numbers, but let's see:

-mod list
-boost level (PSI)
-A/F Ratio

also, post a pic of the dyno sheet if possible.

FDdRIFTER2 08-28-02 03:07 PM

mod list please!!!:)

nocab72 08-28-02 03:29 PM

sanfordman - you are a cracker, those number don't mean anything without your mod list!!!

I second that motion......WTF post your numbers and then disappear without giving a mods list or answering any questions.

sanfordman 08-28-02 04:19 PM

my mods are as follows-
downpipe, midpipe, custom fabricated free flowing catalytic converter, cat back exhaust, hardpipe kit, greddy BOV, power intake and a s-afc. I have to scan the dyno sheet so it will be on later tonite. I was boosting 8.5, 11, 8.5. I would occasionally spike up to 13. If anyone tries to talk you out of an s-afc because they suck dont listen to them. I didnt have the money to spend on an FC commander so I went with the AFC. I bought it and installed it on the dyno-I had close to a 50!!! rear wheel horsepower gain just from the s-afc. My dyno sheet should reflect this becasue I ran a base run before auctaully tuning the afc and out popped 50 RW horses! Funny thing happened on the dyno, we had a peice of 2x4 to hold in the air flow sensor from the dyno in my exhaust and my rex definatly caught in on fire during one of my runs (it was pretty funny but smelled horribly and stung your eyes). Anyways- dyno sheet will be online sometime soon. Sorry about not listing mods-I was to excited and had to run to class because the dyno took to long.

BTW, do you have a street-port or something? That torque figure is low for that much hp. Also, where's the sheet scan and mods!

fdracer 08-28-02 04:24 PM

how would a fuel controller add hp? it only adds fuel so you don't lean out, it won't give you more power.

Toddzilla 08-28-02 04:34 PM

Was it a mustang dyno or a dynojet?

ROTARYFDTT 08-28-02 04:36 PM

you said you had both a midpipe and a custom cat. I was just wondering which one you have because a MP takes the place of a catalytic converter.

RX7Elmo 08-28-02 04:55 PM

close to 300rwhp is very impressive on 8.5psi!?!? I figure the spike to 13psi was during transision or what was going on? What was your A/F then?? 300rwhp at 8.5 makes me go WOW as much as rikki's 350rwhp at 11psi

Uhh. right... you do realize that just slapping on the S-AFC doesn't do a damn thing to your fuel map right?? I am not doubting you picked up 50HP somewhere, but I can tell you right now it was not from that pretty blue screen.

He probably means he bought a midpipe and had a custom cat welded into place.

WORD......that doesn't make any sense, either I am stupid but I don't see the point in that. Why would you buy a MP and then put in a high flow cat, why not just buy the high flow cat? Unless I am missing something, in which case could you explain what you mean.

Most of the time you can come out cheaper this way, however you might not necessarily get the same quality.

RX7Elmo 08-28-02 05:32 PM

well, in reality if you buy a midpipe and put a highflow cat in from say a muffler shop, it would be cheaper than actually buying an FD specific highflow. And I agree that you can not make 50rwhp from just tuning the SAFC.

Where in Raleigh did you dyno it?

Quik 93 FD 08-28-02 05:55 PM

well i dont think that he made 50 hp from the s-afc itself, but if he was running rich enough before, i think leaning it out a bit could get quite a gain, dont you think? I have the S-AFC, but i avent installed it yet. Im waiting untill i break in the clutch to put it on.

m0t03 08-28-02 05:59 PM

this guy is sayin some weird ass shit, like custom cat w/ a MP. How the hell do u do that??? Oh and the AFC gains 50 HP, just like neon lights do right=-)

how could he be running rich if he's got all those mods and stock ecu. he'd have to be running lean. plus he's using the stock injectors which is pretty damn risky for anything above 280rwhp imho.

skunks 08-28-02 06:12 PM

Gees let the guy respond, he has only posted 2 post and some of you guys are jumping all over him.

Personnaly I have a Super AFC and I had to lower my injector duty cycle about 10% all the way across the rpm range just to get to about 10.5:1 afr, the lower limits of the afr gauge. Eventually I went as low as -15% to get to about 11:1 afr. I did pick up a bit of hp but not that much.

On another note, I would like to see his afr :)
