Just completed the Non-Seq Turbo Conversion.
Poor-man's method of course =) The installation took a tad longer than I thought since I had trouble taking out the TCA, but after that everything else was cake. (THANKS DONT_BE_A_RIKKI for the great and easy to follow info on your site)
The car has more lag on the low end, but not as bad as I thought. It use to start spooling around 2800K but now it starts around 3400-3500K. The mid to high end power feels a bit stronger, however, I do kinda miss the kick on the butt feeling when the 2nd turbo comes on. But most importantly, NO MORE BOOST SPIKE! Now my manual boost controller works great and I can boost more without worrying about spiking. Although, I still hit fuel cut, do they make a FCD for FDs??? |

Thanx alot
Legend,
I am glag you like the non-seq! It is very easy to control boost and your secondary turbo will last longer now:bigthumb:. Thanx again and be safe. -Rikki |
Stock twins spool quite a bit before 2800 rpm when working properly. They actually start to spool around 1700-2000rpm.
All non-seq conversions are the "poor man's method" IMHO. If you want to ditch the seq twins the "right way" get a single. Anyway I'm glad your happy. Jeff |

Originally posted by 7-sins That unit is tops!!!!!! Smooths out the car sooooo much. I recommend saving up for it. $980 is a great deal for it from canman. I could have spend the money in tons of other places but I am glad it went there. Unless you plan on going with a exotic setup later down the road, you might want to hold off for a Haltec. |
is it usa version though? from cannman aka jason ?
|
you need to get some sort of ecu whether it be m2, pettit, gforce or pfc cuz you'll be hitting fuel cut no matter what and fuel cut is bad.

The PFC is a nice unit though.... if i'm up in MD with Rikki and them you have to hang out and I will show you what it's like. It clears up a lot of crappy issues with the stock system.
