Just bought a 93 FD

Just wanted to see what ppl thought. Just bought a 93 FD w/ 128 k on the chasis and 37 k on the motor and turbos. This baby has all kinds of upgrades and the body and engine are in great shape. I had it Dyno tested w/ 320 at the rear wheel. Interior needs some work and I'm on it. I paid 13000, too much?

adam c 01-22-04 11:19 PM

Congrats on your purchase. If you are happy with the deal, then you didn't pay too much.

Which rear wheel dyno'd at 320 :)

pearlyellow 01-22-04 11:24 PM

driver side rear wheel, and my happiness is growing I was having trouble finding parts for the interior but someone has finally answered my prayers.

Sprockett 01-22-04 11:47 PM

Congrats....now we need pics!

Cool 320rwhp at the driver side rear wheel...What is the passenger side? another 320rwhp?

:wavey:

Welcome to the club. Sounds like a sweet deal, considering I paid $14k for mine, bone stock. We need pics and a mod list though, just to have something new to drool at.

Sgtblue 01-23-04 02:53 PM

Congrats Pearly,
You can post pictures for all the other guys, but I'd love to see the car in person. Maybe we can get togther before the snow starts flying this weekend. PM me if interested.

Senseny 01-23-04 03:36 PM

Congrats and good luck, sounds like you got a good deal. Please give us that mods list. 320 is a very nice number. My car cost me 13800 and I have had to put more than a few dollars into it to get to 305 rwhp.

FD3RotorTurbo 01-23-04 03:42 PM

congrats! good deal. i paid 12500 for mine but then i had to buy lots of other things

FD_Newb_1974 01-23-04 03:46 PM

Congrats! I paid $9,500 for mine and immediately dumped 10,000 into it. The only person who can answer the "did I pay too much question" is yourself.

I'll give you the same advice others gave me when I purchased my FD.....Don't wreck it!

bajaman 01-23-04 03:52 PM

Cool! Good luck with your new baby....sounds like you got a good deal and are already really happy!

Here's a list of the mods, well most of em. Rebuilt street port and polished 3mm apex seal engine, remapped/rebuilt twin turbos by Majestic, Pettit Racing computer with rev limiter & fuel curve, custom Spearco engine bay intercooler, Greddy polished intake elbow, Pettit Racing twin intake system, Rotary performance main drive power pulley, Mid-pipe and down pipe. 5zigen exhaust muffler, intank 250lph walboro fuel pump, Greddy blow-off valve, Blitz boost control low 10psi-high 14.5psi, Crane Hi-6 ignition w/ 2 LX91 leading coils and 10mm Magnacore wires. New Porsche pearl yellow paint job by Slim's.

pearlyellow 01-23-04 06:37 PM

Like I said, that's most of em. I have paperwork up the wazoo and that's about as much as I've gotten from it so far. I tried to post a pic but I don't think it's working, any advice?

expl0d 01-23-04 06:56 PM

picture doesnt work :O

jpandes 01-23-04 07:17 PM

That's a pretty nice list of mods. Did you get a chance to see what your Air/Fuel ratios are when it was dyno'd? Also was the 320 rwhp at 14.5 psi? I'm curious.

Is the suspension/wheels stock?

Get us some pics.

pearlyellow 01-23-04 07:19 PM

wheels are stock they've just been powdercoated and the car's been lowered I'm probably gonna raise it an inch thought b/c I'm borderline illegal. I could put some pics up but when I try the damn thing just shows a red x. Plz help me.

pearlyellow 01-23-04 07:21 PM

14.5 psi

rhscare 01-23-04 07:26 PM

This car sounds REALLY familier...did you buy it in California?

rhscare 01-23-04 07:31 PM

I'll help you out. Im pretty sure it was this car. I was thinking about it to. Didnt like the spoiler but the rest seemed sweet. If its not, well, then I guess I tried :)

Someone just helped me realize this is a CYM R1, too bad they didn't paint it the same shade when it got repainted.

Senseny 01-24-04 02:16 AM

Pearlyellow, unless something is wrong with your car that the seller managed to hide, and I really hope that is not the case, I think you got a great deal. Especially with the CYM. With the money you saved by not having to mod the thing get it repainted to the stock color sometime down the road. Great stuff, be careful out there as the remaining FD's are precious and of course life is relatively important as well. Don't get into boost exiting long curves and you should get years of enjoyment out of it.

pearlyellow 01-24-04 02:32 AM

Everything has checked out engine wise, the cluctch needs to be replaced and the rest is just in the details
